This summer past...

Just watched the match highlights from this afternoon and defending like that from Santon is poor, he been caught out quite a few times now and it's cost us a goal.

We're really paying the price for not signing some more quality in the summer. We finished 5th and we only signed Anita as a first teamer when it's clear we lack options in central defence and up front.

The couple of million more it would have took to get our summer targets has surely been lost anyway now. Points on the board equal a higher finish and more money at the end of the season.

I didn't expect to match or improve on last seasons finish but our performances of late will having us struggling to maintain a top half status.

We're going to have to hit a little bit of form soon and have one hell of a January to compete for the places that matter in the premier league and this long ball stuff has got to stop!!!

 

Injuries have hit us hard too. Cabaye, R Taylor, Coloccini, Simpson, S Taylor, Krul, Perch and Gutierrez all played a major role last season and all have seen the physio's table this season. Couple that with the fact we haven't replaced Leon Best.

 

A shocker today all round.
