Britannia Stadium swap deal on the card.
Stoke City are set to shake up the chase to sign striker Danny Graham from Swansea City by offering an exchange deal with Kenwyne Jones.
Swansea will not sell £5million man Graham until they have found a replacement with their number one target being Jones, who Stoke are ready to cash in on with just 18 months left to run on the Trinidad & Tobago international forward’s contract.
With Swansea’s £3million bid for Jones already having been turned down by Stoke, the Britannia Stadium club are to propose a straight swap deal for the two strikers, according to The Times newspaper.
Graham had been expected to return to his native north-east to join Sunderland, who had bid around £5million for the 27-year-old as they look to ease the workload on leading scorer Steven Fletcher.
Norwich have also placed a bid to sign Graham although have not had it accepted, while Reading and Queens Park Rangers were also thought to be interest in signing the forward, who has had to make do with a bit-part role this season following the arrival of top scorer Michu.

Rather he goes to Stoke than to us.

It was dependent on Swansea getting their player in first then selling to us (maybe), still not too bothered about Graham some on here seem impressed with his one season in the PL, others seem to have NMG disease and some like me see him as no better than what we have.
Wouldn't be too upset if we didn't get him but, wouldn't be looking for a bridge to jump off if we did, think this is a bit of a smoke screen so MON can get the player he is really after.

Will be delighted if it is.

Thing is MON showed with his pursuit of Fletch that he's a dogged character and will battle until the end. Unfortunately I still think he will be announced as ours on Wednesday morning after the Swansea match.

I just don't think he will be that good for us. He is too similar to Fletch to play with him and he is not going to want to sit on the bench.

I don't really care that he is a Mag but others will and it will just be another Steve Bruce. He did a decent job for us for a while but still did not get any thanks because he was a mag. The fans wanted him gone as soon as possible.

Fletcher all left footed, balanced out with a striker on the right could give opposition defences more problems than we have caused in the past. If it comes off then an adjustment of attacking tactics could be in mind by MON.

Sorry Nostalgic but you and others seem to think it was his roots and diet that got him the sack and that it was a quick death it wasn't mate. It was about 5 months too late and down to us being **** and getting dragged down to the fizzy pop and Bruce doing jack about it bar piss the fans off. Admittedly some did give him stick at games that's their hassle but, for me it was our downward spiral that got him the sack not some sad ****s calling him names.

Bruce didn`t help himself on any front really did he?
Buying complete new teams and wanting time for them to settle.
MON has a much better policy imo. bringing them in a couple at a time.
Build gradually. Steady improvement. That`ll do for me.

Exactly and Bruce did not slag us off in the media like this guy has either. This whole signing is a bad idea.
