has the standards within League One dropped?

Does League One now due to tight financial restraints, after the troubles of Bury and Bolton, perform at a lesser standard.

Has League One turned into the style of League Two similar to when we won the title. Where teams played the big boys. I remember speaking after the Burton game, how Marshall constantly appeared to be muscled off the ball.

When Martin Allen took us up a League his formula never initially worked, that was because imho we had to adapt from the big boys, to the more pacey style of player that keeps it on the ground.

It got me wondering how a Martin Allen style team would perform in this league now.

I would be interested to know if there are stats anywhere that demonstrate teams in this league are turning to loftier players.

A lot of the bigger sides in the division have still spent large sums of money on players, like it or not we are one of the small teams (based on attendances) in this league.
