Steve Bruce and the whole squad have done a fantastic job getting us to where we are, I liked Bruce before he came to the club and I knew he would have a impact but didn't know it'd be so quick. it is going to be a bit of a nervous night tomorrow night but if Watford win then we just need to keep focus and concentrate at Barnsley, if one thing has served us Well this season it's that we've been good at the back.
We're in a fantastic position considering how top goal scorer has nine goals! A big slap on the back for all the team to be where we are!
Steve Bruce has been great - his honesty and humour have been a real eye opener. Whatever the outcome this has been an excellent season. We've seen the odd disappointing game but we've also enjoyed some of the best football ever played by City. I was disappointed when Nick Barmby was moved out and under-whelmed when SB was initially appointed but I have been impressed with everything he's done since day one.
Yeah, the fact our top scorer has been the same since before christmas until very recently says alot about our squad!
Said the day NB was sacked it was a master stroke by the Allams and all the moaners would be dancing in the stands at the KC come the end of the season when City made the play offs or won automatic promotion. Got **** loads of abuse on the HDM site were idiots wanted the Allams out . The Heroic Allams sure proved a point and shut the lot of em up..
Id still rather have barmby managing this squad. But I'd rather have this squad and barmby wouldn't have put such a good one together, or got the backing of the Allams like Bruce has. Catch 22
Well Mr Bullshit Man, after agreeing with my strike partnership on another page, I have to disagree with you on this. IF we had Barmby managing we'd have been play offs at the most. Steve Bruce is the best manager certainly I've ever seen at this club, and I have full confidence in him, whereas I didn't with Barmby as much of a local hero that he is. I know it's your opinion, and it is a valid one, however I'm not sure we'd be on the verge of promotion if Nick was still manager with this squad.
We would be in Barnsleys position with NB going on our nose dive in form under him. Best thing the Allams did was sack him and Bring in Steve Bruce who twice took Birmingham City up. Imo of course
Don't know, Bruce is definitely jinxed with injuries, wherever he goes mass injury crisis' seem to follow, coincidence, maybe? (That was a taking the piss comment before you all jump on it, but in all seriousness can anyone remember such an injury ridden season of so many key players?) Probably barmby wouldn't have achieved this to be fair, maybe he would. No one will ever know. I preferred watching his team though.
What nose dive? We had a huge blip when koren got injured, the way we played was entirely built around him so its no coincidence we were **** while he was injured. Barmby was stubborn and stuck with that system without the key component, a huge mistake which I'm certain he'd have learned from. Under most of his tenure we were great and very entertaining with a vastly inferior, limited and smaller squad than we have now, yet we only just missed out on the playoffs. I think we'd have done well, maybe not as well as we are now, but to say we'd be in the relegation zone when barmby took us to, and had us in the playoffs for the vast majority of his reign here, is not only deluded but ducking ******ed.
Think we were honestly a bit lucky to get Bruce in terms of he wanted a job back in football (not just sitting next to the fragrant Alan Green), other teams for whatever reason didn't want to take a risk on appointing him and our vacancy was there at the right time. But so glad he is here doing what he knows best
But not as deluded and as ******ed as you saying you would rather have NB in charge of the team then SB. Wasnt it something like one win in 10 games under NB ? Relegation form... Like i said just opinions
