Assuming Junior had been in charge since day 1 ( which is very difficult to assess, as things may have been even better or much worse ) we would on our last 15 results, spread across 46 games have finished on about 65 points or 10th, goals for would have been 82 and against 70 GD 12 ! HOWEVER ... we would have won 18 lost 17 and drew 11.. so which 5 would we have beat say the home fixtures against Brentford and Cardiff were 2 of them, then we would have finished 8th ! SO N E X T SEASON we must be looking at 8th as the goal line .... anything less, IMO, and it will be deemed a failure ... SACK JUNIOR only joking...... tonight we will likely know who is joining Aston Villa.... Wigan and Burton, there are 2 very strong teams going to be left from our playoff's, unless a miracle occurs and SHEFF jump ship, having gotten the majority of their points from teams in the bottom half a handsome 51 pts ( from 72 ) v a meagre 23 pts ( from 66 ) from teams in top 12 (from a table adjusted every 4 games) ...
that's because if it was common practice then the endearment aspect would not mean anything .. I do actually have a "junior" ref to 2 other peeps, who coincidently also have the term ....let added as the last bit of their name
A solid top half finish would be good progress tbh. The league will not be any easier with 3 big well supported clubs coming down!!
I've lost all track of how gates are split, who gets what money for being where? in the championship . . . . the only clear figures are for the FA cup, and the £millions the 3 teams bring down .. for Newcastle it will be an added bonus as their gates 50,000 basically help support the wage bill ... they get this seasons share of £millions TV money plus the parachute payments, our turn over is unlikely to reach their first years parachute ....... so well supported are they it is an advantage hard to overcome ....
