I'm not going to start a negative I am just going to put up a statement from SOD's own mouth and the reaction is up to you, I want SOD as our manager...

"This season could be a right struggle, admits Bristol City head coach Sean O'Driscoll"

"But if we make a big issue of it, then it becomes the white elephant in the room and people are just going to get themselves wound up about it."

What do you think ? I think it's terrible negative news to tell the fans after 7 games only...

I think there is every chance he's right from what I've seen so far and the sooner we all accept it the better. We wont do well this season, but what we can't be allowed to do is be relegated, and whatever steps or measures that might involve.

Maybe in hindsight he shouldn't have volunteered so readily for the job if he'd known what he was going to be facing and the constraints he would be under.

Or maybe we are a club that just can't be fixed ?

Have thought all along that we would not find it easy. There has been a difficult start, but we then saw 3 easy points in Shrewsbury- Bit of a mistake. They have drawn 5 out of 7, won one and only lost to Orient who have 7 wins from 7-
We now seem to be entering a phase of games that I would consider winnable- Maybe we need to re assess at Christmas as the tables are usually pretty clear by then. Personally, I think we will be around 14th then and anything at or around mid-table this season should be seen as consolidation with a view to then moving forward-

Think SOD I s right to set expectations. I just hope he hasn't used that as something to hang his hat on

Shrews were toted as a no hoper and destined for divi 2, the philosophy don't get beat and we will get 46 points! if we win half a dozen we are safe...they will lose more than wins or draws by the end ...and possibly be contenders, certainly not top 6 er's

    everything can be fixed.somehow...

unfortunately SOD IS being nice with respect to the boo boys and negativity, a lot of his time must be spent on trying to keep the players positive against the mindless few instead of concentrating on playing.
also we have to have a good look at our forwards!...60% possession and one last minute last gasp goal! SHREWS DID THERE STUFF I was driving back after almost 900 miles and with the phone and radio updates we got a goal they need 2 to take it off of us we didn't we couldn't..simples..

Lets start with Harewood Baldock and JET....3-4-3? and make sure we play wide

It's a guts ache, as was last season.
However in L1 I thought we'd do better than relegation, because that's where we're heading.

We have players who were/are decent enough for the Championship.
    Baldock, Elliot, Moloney and Cunningham.
And Williams and Flint should be able to play L1.
Jet, Bryan,Shorey and Reid certainly are.

This lot should be doing much much better.
I don't buy this SOD rubbish, 'we're a young team blah blah'
The players I've mentioned are a good players for L1, but are not gelling for a reason.
It's why we started the season with f*****g Kilkenny and Fonts.

    SOD.

Fine margins I agree, we're playing a keeper who is utterly useless and has given goals on a plate to other teams this year.
It's destroyed any confidence we might have had.
    Why is Fielding still playing.

Sorry, all our problems start and finish with :

    SOD.

Always difficult when part of the quote is used.

I heard him say this in response to a question along the lines of "does not winning a league game come into the minds of the players"
