This season...can anyone help?

I've been distracted all year and only been able to keep half an eye on things at AP.
Can anyone sum up in simple terms what went wrong?
We had a 25 goal season striker and still went back down?

 

Unfortunately we didn't have anyone preventing opponents from banging in goals (86 of them) at our end. The fact that the only person challenging Beavon for player of the season was our goal keeper just about says it all.

 

comes down essentially to 3 reasons

- poor summer signings
- throwing away good positions far too often
- not being up for it far too often

Bloody Hell! Great piece, but it makes for hard reading. To some extent I'm glad I've missed it. Commiserations to all of those brave souls who paid to watch those games.
I hate to say it, but it looks like it's hard to defend Waddock and his transfer policy!
