    Given that we're linked with a huge amount of European 'talent', it's got me thinking.... Does this remind anyone else of the South American phase we went through in 1999-2000 when we signed Bassedas, Acuna and Gavilan?

    you forgot to mention the argy forward we got on loan who had as much hair as kevin kilcline, not that i can remember his name either :)

    Didn't we sign them all from S. American leagues? I think its a safer bet buying from Euro leages like we're doing now

    You'd think that he'd have packed that ability with him when he came to Newcastle.

    Bassedas was unlucky he was having a great pre-season, then got injuried missed the start of the season and then never really found any form
