I was listening to Radio 5Live this morning and they ran a topic on a ruling by some European Court that being fat could be claimed as a disability in employment terms and they had this woman on from some fat protection league (I made that title up) who was defending fat people and arguing it was indeed a disability. According to her these people were just unfortuante in that it was nature to eat as much as possible and the fattest animals after a winter were generally the ones who, wait for it........bred best with more sexy hormones than skinny ones. Ergo not their fault it was natures fault. Nothing to do with the fact that they constantly had a feed bag under their noses, just look in Town at who is munching in the street the next time you are in, and that they regularly just sit on their arse and don't move. Notice who never walks around you but expects you to get out of their way. Very few are fat because of a medical reason but many are fat because of their habits which they could change.

The next thing I read is the beeb football story from Greg Dyke that there are not enough Asians in football and this should be addressed. Why? If they aren't good enough to play league football then they aren't good enough. It isn't anything to do with racism it has got everything to do with ability. The reason they do not become managers is because few actually play the game and progress through. I can understand comments about black players not becoming managers because the same isn't true as for asians. Why do people insist that there has to be a quota? Why not encourage more to take up the training from an early age and develope into a player who can play league football. If they do that and do develope then they will get signed. No club turns down a good player because of creed or colour.

Maybe it's just me getting older and grumpier but I just can't see why the world has to make special allowances for these sorts of things. Stick to real prejudices and don't invent them for the sake of it as this does little to help the genuine cases.

I was reading that in the paper........being fat means that your employer should provide you with a larger chair, special parking places......and allow you to have a LIGHTER WORK LOAD.....oh yea.

The EU Court of Justice ruled that Karsten Kaltoft a Danish childminder weighing 25 stone (BMI index of 54) was unfairly dismissed ....and that obesity should be seen as a disability.....the Court did not define any guidelines to what was overweight or obese......Kaltoft now works as a LORRY DRIVER.....good grief....sitting down all day....now that could lead to him putting on weight surely.

Another article in the Telegraph caught my eye regarding political correctness.....Civil servants have been told to avoid the C-word......Civil servants have been urged to avoid writing the words "Merry Christmas" in seasonal email greetings to avoid upsetting anyone. Instead employees at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) have reportedly been advised to stick to the more neutral term "Seasonal Greetings".....add to that some Schools having done away with the traditional Christmas Manger scenes and Christmas class parties.....and what do you end up with.....a grey splurge of nothingness......I think this sort of behaviour is bread and butter to UKIP.....isn't anyone standing up for being White ,English and traditional values in this so called multinational country.....oh to be Irish.Welsh,Scottish or English....and to be proud of it.....instead of ending up a grey splurge of nothingness.......does that mean I'm racist like some people call Nigel Farage.....I just think he is saying enough is enough.....especially regarding the EU and it's Courts of Justice and it's efforts to control our lives.
