where the footballing neutral doesn't want the underdog to win. Under normal circumstances I'd have liked to have seen you win at City but I'm just hoping City match United's result to win the title. Ideally a draw in the Sunderland vs United game and then a draw in your game vs City so that the QPR fans travelling will of had a good trip and both sets of fans can celebrate with each other after the game, that would be nice. I heard of something similar happening on the last day of the 08/09 season when Sunderland stayed up and we also won the game so everybody went home happy. Please for the love of God don't allow United to win the league. No proper football fan would. I think I speak for most when I say I'd much rather City fans see success than gloryhunting United fans
After the Ashley Young incident I fully agree with you DL, two draws in the top two games would be just the job, preferably with a last minute goal denying United, so near yet so far...
Think most QPR fans couldnt give a damn about who wins the Prem....whether it be glory hunting Man Utd or buy the Championship City.....all we care about is surviving and if that means we need a point and Utd win it, then thats fine by me.
I can understand that DL - the threads on here about our ideal scenario usually involve United losing and us staying up (in the most dramatic fashion). I'd also like City to win the title but I'd prefer they did it by relying on Man U's result than us having to rely on Bolton's. I think you might be a touch self-indulgent posting this on here though....
Actually, a fair few neutrals I've spoken to want United to win the title, based on the millions City have spent and the assumption that City will probably dominate for a fair few years to come.
Well DL, the way I see it would be best if United won. If City win we'll soon enough see another team with glory hunting fans, the longer the wait the better. And I can't stand clubs buying titles (no disrespect ), United earned it over the years, City just trying to take the short option.
prefer city to win prem but not at our expense as said above both draws would suit us all fine. that ****er young in the press can go & fcuk himself.
So DL what you're actually saying is that you want to see us relegated.........................well thanks a bunch.
I couldn't give a monkeys who wins the title, it's all about us staying up. I find it quite flattering as well as amusing that anyone really thinks we will have a say in the matter. The best home team in the league v the worst away team? You do the math. As positive as I usually am, I really can't see us getting anything but a spanking in this game. But then again, I might change my mind later.
funny how everyone keeps going on about city buying the league but not a word about how sir fergie has broken transfer records left right and centre. is he just pissed off that his and utds reputation just dont have the same appeal to players anymore? if utd do win the league albeit with our help I won't give a fiddlers about it. when he starts coming out and apologises about the likes of Ashley young cheating then I will.
Much as it pains me to say this, but I can't even start thinking about the destination of the title - all I want to see is that little "17" next to our name on Monday morning. How we get it, I don't really care, just as long as we do.
Its amazing to think that this Utd team which is prob the worst Utd team in 10 years is still in with a shout on the last day against a team that has cost hundreds of millions. In many ways Utd are also the under dog considering they have to rely on two guys closer to 40 than 30. City are destroying the Prem with an owner who can simply spend a 100 million every season without blinking. Your comments are usually welcome here DL, but this time me thinks you are on thin ice.
Sorry but Utd are one of the worlds biggest sporting brands.....they are known and supported the world over, this has allowed them to finance the wages and fee's of the very best footballers. Man City are only supported by people from the City of Manchester and have unlimted wealth from rich arabs....they have a bench worth more than multiple lesser EPL teams put together......they buy players that are world class and leave them on the bench. I dont like Man Utd and their glory supporters from surrey....but their financial spending is far more "fair" than Man City.
which is why utds owners were allowed to transfer all of their debts onto the club? correct if I'm wrong but don't they technically owe hundreds of millions, what's fair about that?
Forget the semantics and Young stuff. If United win the title it means we've somehow landed on terra firma! Go for it I say! As for us ending up 17th... I remember all the hoo-ha since last summer about 17th being the realistic objective. Whilst few argued with that commonsensical approach and with past survival struggles in mind, I doubt that many of us anticipated the anxt and ardours that have gone with achieving that realistic position. Whatever happens, it's fair to say we've all become complete adrenalin junkies over the past coupla three months. How the hell are we gonna deal with the come down off that lot? England? Probably just more of the same!!
yes but thats the owners swindling their funds to suit them personally.....that has nothing to do with the football on the pitch....in fact it has negativley affected them, which is why they still have players like Scholes and Giggs (who are still good players) and cant get players like Schnieder.
Ideal scenario is this, Sunderland and United finish 1-1. We're running a bit late due to Carlos Tevez refusing to come out for the 2nd half unless he gets a pay rise. City are 1-0 up as we go into injury time, all the United players are back in the dressing room watching on TV, in the 6th minute of only 4 added we get a free-kick. It's curled in by Barton, Derry goes up and feels a finger-tip touch his shirt, throws his legs out behind him and falls to the ground. The ref blows for a penalty that never was, Clint Hill takes the ball, steps up and smacks it against the post, the ball rolls along the line but clearly doesn't go over. The Assistant Referee though thinks it has and waves his flag to indicate a goal, goal given, 1-1, the ref blows for full-time.
