You have to laugh at the mentality of Pompey Supporters. They sang You Fat B**tard to Lambert then they sang Feed the Scummers let them know it's Christmas time. They obviously not that bright because they do not realise that they are the ones that need donations lol
True they must be sick of supporting the away team.........................................................................o yeah.
Did they not sing " lets send the scummers down" i thought that was funny also, as we are top and they are nowhere near it.
You don't really expect Westwood and his band of inbreds to come up with anything intelligent do you?
Was it my imagination or did the Pompey fans sing the Rickie Lambert/Torres song with absolutely no words at all? DUHHHH!! please log in to view this image
I wonder just how far you would have to go before writing something about John Westwood that would be considered libellous? Even most Pompey fans seemed to have disowned him. He is a discredit to the game and certainly adds nothing to other's perceptions about Portsmouth. A fan I work with had the misfortune to be seated next to him at Fratton Park and there were so many complaints that Westood was moved to another part of the ground where he couldn't be a nuisance. I'm all for football fans being eccentric and having bizarre rituals as this is all part of the game. I loved that aspect of football when I went to the World Cup finals in France in 1998 and there were plenty of colour characters around Aix, Nimes and Avignon without any hostility or intimidation of other supports. Westwood seems especially inarticulate and the interviews he has given that either appear in some of the broadsheets when they are short of a story or on BBC South today always incorporate some barbed comment about "that lot down the road", almost as if he is defining himself by his hostility to Southampton. Amazing to discover that he comes from Petersfield which I always considered to be a bit up-market like Stockbridge , New Arlesford or Odiham. If he ever turned up at the latter, I am sure that the locals would put him in the stocks!
Been saying it for years, if Westwood didn't have a football team to be obsessed with then he'd probably be out stalking female newsreaders. He's a football stalker, not a supporter.
I think pretty far, Ian. Most Pompey fans are a bit embarrassed about him really. I understand that he frequently misses much of the football as he has has been unavoidably delayed I the pub before the match. Only thing is, he is a bit like an eccentric old Aunt. All his family can hardly find a good word for him, but heaven help anyone from another family who might dare to criticise her!
Tbh, I didn't hear the chant about Letting you know guys know it's Christmas time. Anyhow, football fans are a fickle bunch, which is reflected in their chants. Not just Portsmouth fans but pretty much any football fans, tbh.
