    Terrible journalism. Who is this Martin Hardy twat? A Mackem maybe?

    Just because we, along with Spurs and Liverpool, decided that Wickham wasn't worth spending up to £12m on doesn't mean that the club does not have the resources. Sunderland got Wickham because they were the only club willing to match the over inflated asking price. Simple as that.

    Hopefully any paper interviewing this hack in the coming weeks will have read this article and will know not to employ the plank!
