Which other club gives their manager this much support.... and keeps their word? Robert Chase???? Ken Bates??? I don't think so! http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/..._player_won_t_gamble_club_s_future_1_1210747?
Morning, David. We might have more difficulty keeping hold of McNally than Lambert as he has had just as much impact over the last 2 1/2 years. I asked a question a while ago about who we would prefer to keep - Lambert or McNally. I said Lambert at the time, but my opinion has changed in the last few months. If we lose McNally ahead of Lambert, that could seriously rock the good ship Canaries. I wonder who the second player was?!?! My guess would be Pilkington.
Morning Carra. My first thought was Pilks as well, I read somewhere that Liverpool were after him! I think you're right about DM, though I think PL and IC have a talent for spotting who could step up and 'give the lads a hand.' I would prefer to hang on to all our staff! I think they all sing from the same hymn-sheet! Long may it continue!
Morning chaps, I'd guess that second player was either pilks or hoolahan Or then again it might have been wilbrahamavic <wink>
Hoolahan is a good shout. He has been in and out of the team, so maybe a Championship club fancied a sneaky bid just to see if we wanted to sell.
as i've maintained for some time, norwich could cope without lambert. i doubt we would without mcnally...
Also how often do CEO's change at clubs, a lot less often than managers! Let's just hope they're both here for a very long time to come
The January rumour mill mentioned Pilks and Morison, but, hey, who cares - it's all rumour and water under thre bridge while we have such astute stewardship at the club. Lots of real ambition, tempered with the correct amount of prudence
Got to say, this "injury" to Tierney is bothering me. Nothing is coming out of the club in regards to his progression, he's not playing in the reserves and the thing that confuses me most is he was named a sub a few games back, but we have seen nothing of him since. Anyone think he was subject to the bid, got pissed off we rejected it and now he's being punished. I highly doubt it, but where the hell is he?!?!?
no need for conspiracy theories! the club said the other day that tierney had suffered a setback in his return from a hamstring injury
He did play for the reserves the other week, then named as a sub in a league game I reckon the other player is bids from Ipswich for wilbrahamovic!
I assume that DM, when he told PL that he would be manager of Norwich (and made him an offer he couldn't refuse ), he told him of the 7 year plan. Would be brilliant if they were both here to see it through, and maybe even improve on it for another 3 years
I'm sure i heard PL on the radio say that tierney was close to returning and then tweaked his groin in training again but didn't say how long till he returns again. He did play a full game against chelsea reserves i think
That's the problem with being an exile - I only get to see websites and sometimes they don't give you all the information.
During last years Paris Marathon, I got a similar groin injury at 28K. I kept going the other 14K but now live to regret it. Because I carried on with a different gait I ended up fracturing my pelvis. Only I didn't know it. And now 10 months later, the groin hasn't improved at all. So if Tierney has a bad groin injury, unless he resorts to surgery, we might not see him for some time. If it not improving with exercise, surgery might be the only answer.
Agree with all that has been said about PL and DM, but I think it is the mutual respect at the heart of it along with building a team from young and hungry players (or older players who've come up the hard way). The other element is the tactical nous that PL and IC have brought to the squad. Have a look at this analysis of the tactical change at half-time in the Swansea game: http://www.zonalmarking.net/2012/02/15/norwich-swansea/? This says volumes about this year's amazing form, IMO.
RER - Excellent comment and loved the 'zonalnarking' analysis. It really shows the thinking driving our coaching staff and how they counteracted Swansea's style of play. For me, one of the most impressive displays was that of EB in Wes's normal role and I really think he played it better in that he was more willing to play a 'killer pass' (for our 2nd and 3rd goals) than trying to beat the extra man as Wes often does!!! PS - I sit in the N&P too (or River End) to those who've been fans a lot longer than me!!!
