Great to see everyone getting revved up for the Everton game. I made the point ahead of the 3rd round game that I hoped SAFC would prioritise the FA Cup as it still has the capacity to grab the imagination, and, well it has come to pass. I'm also still hanging on to my pre-round three Ladbrokes bet at 66-1 for the lads to lift it. . . maybe, just maybe. The best part however is that our great cup run hasn't come at the expense of our league form, things may get tricky from here on in but so far we've done great on both fronts, which is a real bonus. Anyhow the Everton game is one of those where everyone wants to be there, and just made me think of all the games we've gone to where we knew we were there because we loved the club not for any other reason, and games like this are payback for the hard core and also great occasions for the more selective fans too. Lets roar them home and then next stop Wem-ber-lee hopefully - Ha'Way The Lads!!!!!
We still need to win or at least play well in our league games to keep our momentum going, so I'm trying to concentrate on our games tomorrow night and Saturday before I can really get in the cup mood...
Striving for success and glory is what the game is all about, we've been patient and understanding of "plans" and slowly slowly approach to development and we have been glad just to be there or there abouts. This is our opportunity for glory and even if we do not totally succeed then at least go down fighting or giving it our all..
Marty won't allow complacency to effect our game plans. Unlike his predecessor, Mon is focused and organised, without excuses, negative statements or moans. His positive nature and enthusiasm has effected fans and players alike and we go into every game now believing we can win.
