Will Sunderland be granted another two miracles, or will reality bite? I get a few digs on here because I have a soft-spot for Sunderland, my three eldest grand-bairns are Mackems and proud of it, so there might be something in it. (My latest, much cherished granddaughter is only 6 months, but is a Sunderland lass nonetheless - you are what you are born and I am Hull through and through.) I have played and managed both sides of the Tyne and loved every minute; I try very hard not to get caught up in the rivalry, but give it a nudge when the craic gets slow, in other words, I like the north-east and its folk a great deal. But are Sunderland on the ropes? Have you watched their games? We are just about wheel by wheel in the pole positions, the run in is going to be a real contest with lot reasons to be optimistic or pessimistic - depending on your colours! I think Sunderland will be relegated, I do not believe we will be. There, I've said it, the unsayable. I say it with no joy or satisfaction at all, but simply because Sunderland are in a season decline at the wrong time of the season. I once thought Poyet was a steady hand; the miracles call worked (twice), but this time around he lacks something - credibility, results, gravity or, perhaps just the belief of the supporters. (Or a Plan B -we know all about that) Anyway, lines are drawn, my mates know this, it is the only way. If you are on the lash in Scarborough Satdee, PM me and catch up (with wife), . UTT In Bruce we trust (where's the banner?)
Qpr on Satdee, Stoke on the 28/2 , Hull Vs Sunderland at home on March 3, & Lessta away on Mar 14th. A return of =10 points and safety. IMO.
