Before the end of the season, we knew DG would be going and that we would be trading others.

Buckley is good on his day but so are the other youngsters. If the reported £1mill is correct, I believe it is a realistic amount for an inconsistent winger.

Please stop scare mongering by saying Bassini is asset stripping, as this is just a normal way of doing business for a club like Watford. Have some of you not realised the current world economic situation?

We all knew DG would go... I just think the main problem is most fans feel it is under his value and wanted a bidding war, then to be hit by the Buckley story shortly after - It's just quite a lot to take to lose the Player and Young player of the Seaon within hours of each other!

We all know every one of our players has a value and will go if it is met, but we just don't know if Malky will see any of that to replace them, or will he have to find 3 or 4 'gems' on the cheap! If we sell too many, Malky will get fed up and go!

I can't see it being a firesale, no, although Kev has hit the nail on the head. The bidding war that never was for Danny, and then this news about Buckley soon after is a big hit. Buckley is expendible, and although he very often flattered to deceive I think we can all see he's going to have a monster season either this year or next - as soon as he learns to stand up longer than a newborn giraffe.

Although if the rumours are right and we do end up getting - for free - Andrew Taylor, Kevin Phillips and this Craig Conway (admittedly know nowt about him) then we will have a team capable of survival. It's going to be the same situation for a good few years unless we get very, very lucky.

Well we all knew DG was likely to go, but he also said that he was contracted for a year and he wants to be a premiership player. I cant see him going to Swansea ****ty simply cos they are not certain to stay up and may not even meet the personal terms he wants. With regards to WB, we have plenty of talent to step into the squad and have been linked with several youngsters (conway+wiggins) who as i understand one of them if not both can play the role WB would leave. I dont think that MM will let it get out of control.

The thing is I don't believe a bidding war would have gone any higher than £4mill, so we haven't been sold that far short. And then this way we have time to get the replacements.

Goldie, believe me that Conway is a v.good player who can easily replace Buckley, so if we got him, Taylor and Super Kev, I would be very happy and hope for a season similar if not better to last season.

A lot of ifs though no? We haven't got any of those players yet..and Conway is rumoured to be going elsewhere, as is KP...

Thing is LB now we will never know ,it wouldnt have hurt to let the nearly auction go on another week! unless of course the club had to make a payment which couldnt be covered by a short term bridging loan!

If Brighton get Cowie as well , as it stands , where is the midfield creativity , Murray cant do it on his own!!! Jenkins is more defensive midfield! Eustace ?!
at the moment we have Deeney and sordell ,what happens when one gets injured! If we sell JE and MT thats the spine ripped out!
I am not feeling confident about survival next season ...as it stands now!

I haven't seen anywhere that we are going to sell Cowie, Eustace or Taylor. That is what I mean by scare mongering.

That's an extra £500k though (or 14%) which when you're as skint as us, is a HUGE amount of money.

I agree £500K is a huge amount of money for us and I am not saying everything is perfect.

What I am trying to understand is why people are so angry as Bassini for selling 2 players when we knew they were going to be sold, whether he owned us or not.

I just have to ask, but has it been confirmed that Buckley is leaving? or is it just paper talk?

that and the fact were not maximizing the sales ,thus at least giving MM a small pot of money for buying players in!
Were heavily dependant on Villa selling Young and I bet my Mortgage that Randy Lerner will squeeze every penny out of the buyer!Unlike Baz!

BHD as yet Bucko is our player as is super Dan ! However I think you can assume safely that both have effectively gone or will in the very near future!
