Rangers have quite publicly rejected the bid, so I'm sure it was true!

When clubs make it public that they have rejected a bid it more then likely letting people know hes available but only at the right price

And if £6.5m isn't the right price, then the guy must be absolute quality!

They have made him available just not the championship clubs. Now surely they have realised Prem clubs arent interested and either they sell to us or he runs his contract down

If you look at Kris Boyd's (another striker who did well in Scotland) record in Scotland, it's usually something like 25 goals in 45 games. With Jelavic, it's more like 20 in 25 so I think he'd have a fair chance of succeeding in the Championship rather than someone like Boyd who flopped. Also the lack of European football might persuade him to leave Rangers. He recently said that Rangers isn't the same without European football. But the only way I can see him leaving is if he hands in a transfer request because I doubt we'll go back with a bigger bid. Mind you, I seem to remember he went on strike at Rapid Vienna to get his move to Rangers.

I also don't think it's a joke we've gone in for him. He's a good striker and is rated very highly by the Rangers fans and it shows Bristol we've got other options other than Maynard which might make them want to sell a bit more and take the money.

Not really, McCoist is despo to keep him and this is his way of saying "Hands off" to anyone. McCoist is worried and now he aint getting European footie he could be getting itchy feet.

I dont understand how difficult it is to sign a quality striker.
We should look outside the box like we did with paul dickov.
If i had my laptop i could easily name 5 great striker not even mentioned yet. P.s i wonder who we could loan.

Is he quick? You don't have to be in Scotland but we really need someone quick IMO.

We have literally been linked with 100 players today.

I'm guessing we will sign 2% of them this season.
