I was just scanning through BBC World news reading the same dismal news that has been doing the rounds for years and nothing we can do will ever change the carnage. If I was in control of any of the supposed civilised countries I would stop all aid of any kind to countries anywhere close to the Arabian Gulf and tell them that when, and only when, they can prove they have removed murder from their political agenda will I ever send a single unit of currency to their aid. Nothing we are doing or can do will ever change a thing until such time as they finally come to idea that something is internally wrong. My suggestion would be to spend this wasted money on the NHS for example rather than flushing it down the toilet continuously on people who will never appreciate it or act to improve their lot. I am not talking specifically about individuals who may need our assistance but rather the governments and groups that seem intent on continuing the carnage ad nauseum. Will it ever end?
Foreign aid does change lives, and the lives it saves will appreciate this. Labour and the Conservatives use aid to build trade links, Bribery and bungs are not aid. This involves giving "aid" to nations with stinking human rights records and the non democratic, but when Arab states are buying up half of London, the Chinese will be running the power stations ... Principles do not matter.
A crazy world going even madder in my books and yet we still stick to using politically correct jargon in order not to offend the guilty parties. As some may have noticed I tend to say it the way it actually is and if I upset someone along the way then that is too bad, as long as they don't get angry at me for my comments. Regrettably the world will never learn from it's mistakes and it's always the innocent who reap the whirlwind. Damn it I'll have another Corona.

Putin and Assad are also human rights abusers hiding (not very well) and when you consider the oil billionaire that Trump has appointed as his Secretary of State then the troubled world get's even more confusing. Many have said that Trump will use his presidency to feather his own nest and when you appoint someone who is known to have personal links to Putin than you can make your own guess as to what happens next. I shall refer to them as the 3 Scum Bag Amigos linked by self indulgence and to hell with the populace. Oh sod it another Corona down here in Mexico is in order and thank goodness I decided to spend some time in a non-corrupt country - whoops hang on a minute that can't be right.
Trump admits he's no politician but Obama wasn't popular (aside from Obama Care) and Clinton had too much to hide and shot herself in the foot. Donald will find that the job as the so called leader of the free world will have to include compromises along the way despite his bullish rhetoric and threats. The majority of Africa will always be run by corrupt regimes, and no-one should give their leaders any airtime. America, like the UK voted for change and now we all have to suck it up, whatever 'it' may look or taste like. I think Trumps nest is already nicely feathered...
Welcome aboard the reality train Red Hub. It's a shame that we waste so much time and money trying to help people who will not help themselves, unless they are stealing from someone else. Certain oxymorons come to mind such as Arab Spring and Syrian Peace. My American cousins to the south will never get it in to their heads that they should stop sticking their noses in places where they serve no purpose, unless it is presumably for their own betterment.
All these governments are corrupt including the UK and America. They only serve self interest and are run by the so called elite.The news networks are also controlled and deliver propaganda to the masses, to justify political and military crusades. It wont be long before the dollar collapses and brings the US to its knees.

Please remember that when the Excited States gets the flu Canada gets a cold, so please don't wish bad luck on them (despite me agreeing with your thoughts on them) because everything that happens down there has serious ramifications up north of the 49th parallel. P.S. Ask an American what is the 49th parallel and they won't have a clue and if you ask them about Canada they will have even less of a clue. By the way a Canadian is an unarmed American with a brain and a sense of humour.
Its not bad luck on the US. Its the reality of a financial system that has been propped up / trillions in debt and on the verge of collapse. I think by deflecting the american attention to the middle east it delays the realization of how much crap they are in on the home front. Whatever people think of Trump, if Hilary had won we would all be dragged into a third world war.
