Report: Livorno reach agreement for QPR defender

Livorno have reportedly agreed a deal with Queens Park Rangers to bring outcast defender Armand Traoré to the Stadio Armando Picchi.

Serie A strugglers Livorno have completed a move for Queens Park Rangers left-back Armand Traoré, according to Sky Italia.

The 24-year-old is out of favour at Loftus Road and has played little part for Harry Redknapp's side in their Championship campaign.

However, Traoré did score his first QPR goal last weekend in a 3-1 victory over Ipswich Town and could have been more active in the first team if he were willing to play a more offensive midfield role.

But according to Sky Italia, Livorno have already pounced for Traoré and the deal is set to go through within the next couple of days.

The ex-Arsenal man is no stranger to Italy having played for Juventus on loan during the 2010-11 season but could find Livorno a very different challenge.

Traoré the represented the country of his birth, France, at Under-19 and Under-21 level but he chose to switch to play for Senegal instead in 2011.

Sky Italia believes that Traoré will give his agreement to the transfer tomorrow and will be able to travel to Tuscany for a medical.

Livorno are in dire need of some help as they face a grim relegation dogfight. They currently sit joint bottom of the Serie A table along with Catania on just 13 points.

Are QPR letting Traore go at the wrong time?

Hope not. Think he could do a decent job at Left Wing for us as well as providing some defensive protection.

I thought all the reports were of an improved attitude towards the club and training? Or was that just to help sell?

Keep until end of season IMO ?

Had this happened before Saturday there would probably have been dancing in the streets.

I've no problem with letting him go.

At the risk of starting another Adel thread, who would we/you use in that left mid position Roller?

We dont see, to have anyone performing well there. Esp if we want to play 442, we're not going to have the extra player to do the defending?

Unless Harry has someone else lined up i reckon we should hang on.

    What do others think?

Traore's (surprising) goal at Ipswich doesn't alter the fact that he epitomised the lack of backbone in our mercenary team of misfits last season. I think he's a good footballer, but he's never gone the extra mile for us in defence or attack until he suddenly appeared in the Ipswich box on Saturday. Maybe his agent told him to do it - something to whet Livorno's appetite? Good riddance to him.

I think you are being kind saying that he is good footballer, I honestly think he is an awful player and I have never seen such a one footed player in my life!

Apart from that I agree with you :)

If Jordan Rhodes arrives I think we will go 4-1-3-2 to give a bit more flexibility than 4-4-2. I also think Henry will be the 1 as all he has to do is receive from defence and give to midfield "and nothing else". Seems he is ok in that limited role, as per Ipswich.

Based on his contributions towards our struggles over the past couple of seasons I'm not sure if he's really up for that?

I wonder if Nikica Jelavic's agent told him to score those goals against us to squeeze a bit more money out of Hull?

Same here, whilst I think he could do a job in left midfield I certainly won't be sad to see go as another (of a long list) who just hasn't done enough in his time with the club.

I think it would be a mistake to let him go, he has ability but lacks a bit of the old work ethic, if he changed his attitude to a bit of hard graft he could make himself a fixture in this team.

I think he's still got a role to play at left mid. As a defender he's got some serious limitations but going forward he has pace and can deliver a good cross.
I'd be dissapointed to see him go.

He looked very happy at Ipswich, apparently Harry thinks he has changed his attitude for the better..... shame to see him go right now
