I have just seen this and I am shocked at what Barnet have done. Izale McLeod among seven players released by Barnet Barnet's top scorer Izale McLeod is among seven players released by the League Two side. The 27-year-old, who has had spells with MK Dons and Charlton, hit 22 goals in 53 appearances last season. Dean Brill, Sam Cox, Darren Dennehy, Mark Marshall, Alassane N'Diaye and Jordan Parkes are also departing the managerless Underhill outfit. Meanwhile 21-year-old midfielder Sam Deering is set to enter discussions with the club over a new deal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18153029 What would your thought be if we were to sign McLeod after what he done to Richards, would you be happy with him joining as he is a good player for free but he has one problem, injury, also what about a few of the others like Dean Brill and Darren Dennehy, what would you think about them, I personally would not want Darren Dennehy as he is too injury prone, he was good but I don't think I would want him. I would have said Mark Marshall would be good, but he has been released for a reason and if you don't already know, he failed his drug test and is banned for 2 years.
Hoadie - despite the scoring record of McCleod ( primarily against the Gills ) - Barnet have struggled against relegation to the BSP for the last two years. It says that, as a whole they have not been able to 'do it ' against other sides in L2 ( and they were poor at Priestfield last season ) - McCleod & Marshall ( pace we deperately need )may be worth considering ( if he hadn't been banned )- if we could deploy a system to profit from the individual and or collective skills of such players.
Yeah but Marshall would not have gone if he had not been banned, he is a stupid idiot, drugs are mad, and when you have a good life in football aswell what a waste.
I doubt it was really Barnets choice, he was linked pretty heavily with Crawley in January and I feel that Barnet told him that they would not stand in his way if he fired them to safety. His goalscoring record puts him out of our reach in my opinion. Dennehy did a very good job whilst here but decided to follow Stimson and I think he's been injury prone since. Maybe worth a punt but I think not sadly
