This is spot on and very true,I have copied this from a fan at game yesterday.

I agree 100% with the below.

He's visibly trying very hard and is desperate to bring success to this club, let's believe him in like he believes in us?
He may be, but I think it is plain wrong what he is doing with Fontaine, to me that is showing a lack of judgement not only for what is best for the team, but also for Fontaine's state of mind and form.**there are many facets to what he has done that makes me question some of his judgement calls.**\he generally say the right things, but makes some very odd decisions.

Take for instance today.**He takes Davies off, who is looking for a hatrick and causing a threat, and leaves baldock on who had offered not so much of a goal threat.**By taking him off he removed our set piece threat as well.**odd, very odd unless he was injured, which i have not heard that he was.**Then he brings pitman on and does a Millen and plays him on the left.**Millen got slaughtered for this type of decision.**Del I am afraid is making the same type of mistakes, and is extremely stubborn.**Could be his downfall, could be his making.**I just get a nasty feeling he my die on his sword.

I think that even the biggest admirer of Del must now realise that he is no miracle worker.
DF at Palace has had less time and spent a LOT less money wth much better results.
You have to question the decisions he has made when strengthening the team over the summer.
To some extent he has given himself a problem with deciding who to play up front because
he has recruited predominantly attacking players. At the same time he is short at the back
and so is almost forced into playing people out of position (injuries haven't helped).

I have to say the weird team selections and post match comments do remind me a lot
of Millen. He is saying pretty much the same things - paying for daft mistakes, we had
chances but didn't take them blah blah blah.......

He has brought in Morris, Anderson and M Wilson who hardly feature. Our defence is no better
than last season. The decisions he has made don't seem very balanced and neither is the
team. I'm afraid we are in for another tough season and the crowds are likely to melt away
pretty quickly if results don't improve, which won't help his case when it comes to
finding the money to bring in much needed reinforcements on the defensive side.

**** me Crystal Palace fans wanted to kick DF out earlier this season <doh>

Fergie bought youngsters for Manc Utd and did not play them straight away. Lucky for him Man U gave him a chance to get things going.

I know some want to get rid but name your replacement manager if that did happen?

Maybe - some people were keen to get rid of NP at Leicester too but I'm sure neither set of fans
feels that way now. Point is that the changes they have both made are working - ours aren't yet.
Leicester have more money, Palace are in London so maybe it is easier to attract players.

Don't get me wrong I don't want to get rid of DM. You can't keep chopping and changing. I thought
he would turn things round and maybe he still will given time but it ain't looking good for this season.
I just can't help thinking that he is making some bemusing decisions and has to share the blame
with the players for where we find ourselves now.

I'm as frustrated as the next fan and a lot of the times I look at our line up and question it, but I can give you the correct concrete for your job as that is my job, likewise Del knows more about football than me.

I can see Anderson, Cunningham, Baldock and a few of the others are for the future. Morris was brought in to dismantle the dressing room clan and offer something for the team when needed. Or perhaps Del made a mistake we all do just ours don't get to forum's.

We could be sat here in a few years time with a really good team bustling through or we could be ****e but I would rather give him till the end of this season preferably next season to see if he does work its way through.

As you pointed out a lot of managers were looking dodgy til a run of results change it, if we win the next 2-4 games some will be back saying we are dark horses this season for contenders.

The one thing I do know in this division every year some team starts poor or mediocre then puts a good run together. Reading last year were ****ing awful till they came back from 2 nil down to us at AG, Blackpool a few years back and Hull came from nowhere to beat us in the playoffs it happens and will do this year.

It's not blind faith in McInnes just being patient as I started this post I'm as frustrated as the rest <ok>

Hope you are right mate and we go on a run. I want Del to succeed - maybe it is just frustration as you say.
Yeah I agree he has brought in some good players for the future and he can't change the whole team in
one season. Perhaps if he could be honest about it in public (which clearly he can't) Del would agree
that some of his decisions haven't been right. I do have more faith in him than Keef but the results
at the moment aren't helping. Let's hope we win our next 2 home games and can all relax a bit.

we need the surprise element of Baldock coming on in the second half...........

Should start with a mixture ( 2 )of Taylor Stead Davies HAVE woolford and adomah on the wings and the other 6 as either another 3midfielders and 3 defenders ( 3-5-2 ) or 2 as midfielders and 4 in defence

    usual 4 - 4 - 2

you are right Millie was ostracised with HIS subbing but go back through the last 30 - 40 games and there is very similar actions. . . . PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTH'S..............PROBLEM IS AT THE MOMENT WE DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE ANY.

We didn't spend £1m plus to use Baldock as a sub plus what surprise..? no one has forgotten we have signed hin...!.

He and Davies should be given a run together to establish an effective strike force however, if it is still not working after a set number of games, then we need to look at it again. We should get an idea after our next 2 games...

Give del a full season he only just settling in still took df nearly 2 years to get his team sorted and when you have a good academy it makes life a whole lot easier

To be honest I was at he game at Bolton after all its close to Blackpool - Fontaine played better than i have seen him this season although that isn't saying much. I am still convinced that Del's major mistake was making him captain and thus having to always find him a place in the side. Louis Carey probably our best leader on the field is now really too slow for first team football so he needs replacing, McManus was so much better at Left side CB than either Fonts or Nytanga we need to keep him and get someone quicker than Carey to play at Right CB, As soon as we have Cunningham back at LB and the afore said RCB I think our performances will improve dramatically, even though we conceeded 3 goals and were outplayed for most of the game I thought overall the defence showed signs of improvement.
Basically a new RCB and a proper LB and I think we will start going up the table again over big dip in form coincided with Cunninghams injury with him back and If we can keep McManus things will be much better. We lost on saturday but I think there were definate signs that perhaps the defence was starting to get it's self together.
