The press and some fans, have misread, I´d say The signals from Mr. Hoolahan, But this has to stop, and preferably today For in my view we need the wee man Forgive, even if we can´t quite forget His apparent desire to flee, Playing like he did Sunday could just let Him and us reconsider his plea And the fact he went to salute City fans As Hughton reminded us all, Once the game had sunk into the Villa sands, Was actually a merited call We clearly saw he can unlock a defence If he´s on form and in the mood, A luxury sometimes, but worth the expense Just one of a maddening brood But throwing abuse or booing at him Whenever his name gets a mention, Will only help push him more out on a limb And add to the team´s current tension Just whether Hughton C will use him more In these vital end of year games, Who knows, but surely after what he saw Last time out, he´ll be in the frame. Spot on. It's been ridiculous the way many have reacted, thankfully it wasn't the majority. I'm far more ashamed of our "fans" reaction than Wes's celebration! This is over as an incident, shouldn't have been as big as it is anyway!
It is good that he has explained it, though he should have done it sooner given all the fuss in the press at the start of the week, but now let's just put it to bed!
You´re right Dave, it would have eased things sooner, but perhaps being away with the Irish squad made things a bit more difficult.
