They arrive next week and now I have to create a bridge to the island in the lake so they can keep away from the foxes. The dog doesn't come with them but there's a female goose and 7 ornamental ducks.

Off Gumtree 'cos they've had complaints from the neighbours ....... £60 including delivery <ok>

Is that a 4-4-2 you have going there.....or a 4-5-1 with the dog up front as a lone striker.....?

Well, as you ask, it's going to be a draw-bridge mate.

The island is about 3 metres from the bank so we'll use the bridge to get across and place the food there every day.

Hopefully they'll get used to it and consider it home ........ I'll knock up a duckhouse in the morning from what we have knocking about.

It's really exciting and we're hoping the goose helps keeps predators away <ok>

I`ve heard they make good guards. Can be nasty buggers apparently. Would it take on a fox? Without chicks I mean. Anything defending young will have a go at anything else obviously.

    Dunno mate.

TBH they can fly and will have their own island which will be spotlit with a sensor light ....... if they still get eaten then bollocks to them <laugh>

I agree with you mate I would like to shoot the bastards as well but they say they are only going out for the ride now not hunting foxes, they used to meet in the farm yard and they are just as ****ing gormless as they look with the little lasses called Corneilius sat on there fat little ponies with their fat little legs stuck straight out look like something out of the four mary's in the Bunty.

I'm sitting here swotting up off the internet.

The fact that there's a goose coming with the 7 ducks complicates things a bit but we should be fine.

I've ditched the idea of using the lake and a bridge, too much bother and I'll end of falling in.

So we're going to use one of the old stables, which will keep them safe at night, and we can feed them there which will keep vermin down.

There's a stream that runs along in front so they can waddle & paddle to their heart's content.

If anyone's interested I'll hoy some photos up when they're here ...... dead exciting this <ok>

Just need some names now, thought I'd call one Pelanty <whistle>
