Yes, it did go pretty well (I think). It seems I was given (or got) the wrong end of the stick on my phone call from the clinical nurse. The surgery that they recommend would be keyhole and wouldn't entail having a stoma afterwards, which will make a big difference to my decision.

Rollercoaster or what?

This is the first time I have visited this thread and sorry to hear you have been in some distress. Especially during this pandemic which must of added to your worries.
