Yes, it did go pretty well (I think). It seems I was given (or got) the wrong end of the stick on my phone call from the clinical nurse. The surgery that they recommend would be keyhole and wouldn't entail having a stoma afterwards, which will make a big difference to my decision.

This is the first time I have visited this thread and sorry to hear you have been in some distress. Especially during this pandemic which must of added to your worries.
I am pleased that you have found an answer that should give you peace of mind. As 'Alfie' aka Michael Caine said in the last scene "if you ain't got peace of mind you ain't got nothing"
