That's my opinion anyway. More and more power is being devolved to Scotland and with the SNP campaigning for independance, this makes no sense. Besides, how can it be right that Celtic could go straight into Division 3 ? The next thing to happen would be for Rangers to follow suit and we'd have to put up with all that out-dated pathetic sectarianism. It's not our fault that Scotland have a crap league, what do you expect when then majority of football fans support one of two teams. The Scots slag us sassanachs off declaring they are Scottish first and British when it's conveinient. Rant over ! http://www.people.co.uk/sport/footb...npower-league-one-in-england-102039-23793094/
It was in one of the Sunday papers, that if they couldn't get or be allowed into our leagues, they (Celtic) would try the Dutch ones. I would suggest they try the Faroe Isles, might just be top dogs there, and Rangers would benifit from the extra T.V money! ILD (Home rule for Norfolk) OTBC
Well, the pass was sold a long time ago with Swansea, Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport etc. all playing in "our" Football League. I guess there's as much reason to admit Celtic as there was to admit Cardiff in the old days. But why stop at Celtic? Several Scottish clubs would do reasonably in the Football League. Just letting Celtic in would simply be an unprincipled, money-driven wheeze that in the end would benefit Celtic at the expense of clubs who already compete in our Championship and lower-half of the Premier League. Come to think of it, though, there might be English teams for whom joining a "foreign" league would be attractive. OOpswich Town might do really well in the League of Wales ........ Just imagine the number of typos if JWM was trying to spell llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!
i have absolutely no issue with the current welsh clubs playing in the english leagues and nor should anyone else really. they've played in them since the early 1920s - longer than many. the main issue with them is that they should fall under the governance of the english fa, not the welsh as sometimes it can give them an advantage. however, i do have a problem with celtic, rangers or any scottish club for that matter being allowed into the english leagues. they only have one reason for wanting it and thats increased income. all we'll get though is increased trouble at games and their 'issues' have no place in football let alone being brought into our game too. i remember celtic coming to norwich for a friendly about 15 years ago and i'm not exaggerating when i say wherever their fans went that day and evening got smashed to pieces. they can stay exactly where they are thanks very much
As Supers said, the Welsh sides have been playing in England for years. The only reason Celtic and Rangers want to come here is because they've gotten so big they've killed their own league to such an extent that there isn't any interest in it any more from media or players and now want to go somewhere they can get more money.
another thing to mention is that the scots are dead set against the british national team yet can't wait to get their hands on some premier league money! if they don't want to be british, and want to remain scottish, then they can't come down here when the money suits them! ok, celtic are traditionally an irish club but the fact remains
Think you'll find that both Cardiff and Swansea fall under the FA now, it was agreed upon from the start of this season.
