Just sat pondering having a tab and a beer on me lonesome.

A year or two,i did a thread on suicide. It was probably the most thought provoking thread i have ever read on this board. I was humbled by the replies.

Then i read Billys SAFC hardmen. And the way we differ on views.

    What is hard?

Not easy to word this one...

Are you a hard man, physically or emotionally?

Do you bottle things up then explode. Do you fight. Do you let fly sometimes?

Or are you more of a non aggresive person. Do you sometimes have a blowout?

Maybe im wording this wrong. I dont mean aggresive at home. But that could have a huge bearing on you outside.

Do you see yourself as aggresive, non aggresive or inbetween?

How many confrontations or fights have come your way?

    Yes im a nebby twat.

Not aggressive by nature, but when I blow I blow.. I will always do my best to resolve confrontation by non violent means, but I have probably had at least my fair share of physical confrontations over the years..

I've never had a fight in my adult life! Can only remember one little scrap in junior school lol. So i'm not a violent aggressive individual. I bottle things up cos i'm a very private person but when i blow i do blow. And when i do, people who know me keep out my way for 5 minutes. And once i got it out my system i'm totally calm again.
When i see lads scrapping in city centres on a weekend night out etc it amazes me how they get through life like that tbh.

I was battered to a pulp when I was 16, my head was jumped on and my face cut open, by three lads, I was playing football with pals on a school field and they come out of nowhere. My face was bounced off a concrete pillar and that was the last I remember. There wasn't any revenge. It was the first time I'd been beat up properly.

Few more times I've taken a kicking, I'm a bit of a cheeky bastard and I don't tend to keep my words to myself. You move on, get up and wounds heal, they become stories that's all.

I don't consider myself a 'hard man' at all, I don't look hard and I don't ever get aggressive when drunk unless I have to defend myself.

I know how to defend myself and I don't fear many people, certainly nobody based on size or build alone.

I was blind sided in Bedford, wham! Right in the grid, knocked me for six. Took me about 3 days til I could walk straight again, that was some punch. Apparently I was calling his bird a fat mess for pushing in, in the kebab shop, doesn't sound like me.

Never been much into the fisticuffs. A few scrapes as any other kid but no more than that.

Nee good now mind. Too little to fight & too owld to run. Screwed either way. <laugh>

Not averse to a ringside seat though when a pissed up loud mouthed arsehole gets a `shut the **** up` slap or two. "Aye, What are you going to do about it like?" Bang. Down. Carried out. I quite like them.

I did a lot of damage a long time ago. Not proud of it. Won't raise my hand ever again.

It can work both ways for me..Our lass hates it when I drink whiskey as she reckons I am very aggressive then, although I don't think I am. The worst I have ever been is when I was taking painkillers call Naproxin (when I was suffering with sciatica), and drinking alcohol at the same time which made me incredibly aggressive. It was my brother who is a qualified nurse who noticed the connection and looked up the side effects of the drug which explained everything. I have not taken them since.

I had a few fights in my teens but I was never very good at it. One of them was pretty bad and I've got a small scar going up from my top lip from where I got punched by someone who was wearing a ring.

The worst thing about that one was that I had my best mate with me and he didn't step in to help whatsoever.

I've never been one to aggro when I'm drunk but I've got a very short fuse at times so if I was going to get in a fight these days it'd be more likely to be sober in the middle of the day if someone pissed me off while I was in a bad mood.
