After the utterly sick **** on the General Chat forum regarding Gary Speed, I think I am out of here as I don't want to be associated with a forum that allows this in any form! I know the posts have been locked, but they still there on view. Looking on the moderators forum opinion is split with the GC itself , all are condemning the sick bile that was put up to be fair, but the utter ****e is still ongoing! FYI Syd has resigned his position on here, and most of the Newcastle guys are likely to go by the looks of things, because whilst Mick has agreed that things are going to change, IMO the changes don't go far enough. I said to Mick that what he allows on this forum reflects on him, I am sorry but the posts and threads mocking people who try and make a stand against the idiots on GC have driven away a superb Super Moderator, and at the moment I feel the same. Sorry to trouble you guys on this, but I consider you my virtual mates, even you Dai but I think this forum whilst its not dying, it's taking a direction I don't want to be linked to, and do I really need the hassle?
Jager, don't let the small minded minority drive you away. You get imbeciles in all walks of life. An old football friend of mind did the same thing last year, played in the Coopers Arms team many years ago, and you wonder WHY!!! So my advice would be and I know it's hard not to get riled etc, and bite back at the Trolls out there. You see them on other social network sites, there just out to cause offence. Chin up!!!!!
Jager just ignore GC mate, the vast majority are ignorant tosspots. I saw Syd's announcement and I understand him being pissed off but that's not the answer. Banning these fcuckwits forever is the way forward, some of the stuff on there is plain obscene it even makes John Hughs look mild. Keep the faith brother !
I havent read these comments but i must say one thing. Jager ,you are a valued and honourable poster on here and i have immense respect for your views and debating skills, we have our ups and downs but i think we both know it is just sometimes a case of the irresistible force meets the imovable object !! there is nothing but admiration from me towards yourself and the way you look after the board, i may have a moan now and again and indeed be a bit of a pain!! but i respect and value your input on here, please reconsider your stance!! This board needs people like you Jager , you bring balance and are fair minded, which is a real quality to have on here, i regard you as one of the most valued members, if it wasnt for the likes of yourself,DPJ,Daiswan and the rest of theBBC 606 massive i would not have come to this forum. Jager what ever has upset you please take the moral high ground and remain part of the Swans not606 family You have my 100% respect and support in whatever you choose to do,but it wont be the same without you Jager .
I'm with Jager on this. Regardless of who we all support, Gary was a true legend, a guy not one person had a bad word to say about. Tosspots that say what they have said in GC, well, they are not human. They are sick. Have said for a while that this forum is going to the dogs, and it seems I was right.
Hi Newcastle fan in peace..Yeah alot of people are feeling like this, I went on to inform them that the jokes were sick, and just got a triade of abuse back from about 5/6 differen't members.. Mick doesnt seem to be taking a strong enough stance on these sort of posts which at the end of the day is a sports forum!
Thanks guys I appreciate that it's not so much the GC threads that I read as I never go there as they are sick ****s! But one of the Cardiff supporters brought it up on the Gary Speed thread, and I had a quick look to see a few posts, and genuinely sickened me! I created a thread called 'Respect' on the moderators forum questioning having these threads and comments, Syd backed my comments 100% and mentioned he was quitting as it was utterly sick. The outcome of that was that Mick is worried about double standards on here with this and other sick threads he has allowed, so he locked the threads in any case , and basically we carry on as if nothing happened! With some vague promise to change things. My problem is that while I really enjoy not606 and the guys posting on here, and I mean you Norway as well as Dai and Vetch who I have argued with over various things, I have a dilemma , I don't want to be associated to a forum or website that allows behaviour so vile that it defies words. Looking at the forum and I can see Sunderland and Newcastle fans are almost singing from the same hymn sheet here, I mean has there been a blue moon or something ? Basically they are sick of GC like me.
I just read 3 posts on GC, and as Jager said, they are beyond sick. We all like a joke, but not about something like this. It's pathetic. Mick needs to take a stand and ban the racist, sick bastards.

Jager, dont let the sick ****ers grind you down. Over the last couple of days we have debated a few things, but a forum like this, should be about 'fans' opinions. I totally respect your decision, which ever way it goes. I personally dont get the heirachy in these forums, but I respect people like you who govern or police the sites. You put alot of time and energy into it, which we all respect you for. You used to get these trolls on the old 606, and a multi billion pound institution was behind that. I hope that the owners or financers listen to you mate, as, while anarchy sounds like fun, It isnt.

Just looked at the General chat forum. Im not easily offended, but my ****ing god. That page should be banned unless someone can sort it out. Some of the pictures on there are totally ****ed up. This site has the possibility to be great, but when scum can post that, wheres the country going?

Respects to whatever decision you choose Jager. That GC is really not something I want to be associated with. Not neccissarily the Speed jokes (since I am sure one or two of us have told a joke about Gary Glitter/Michael Jackson/Diana/etc etc) but some of the pictures and threads are truly disgusting and are accesible to all including the young. It takes a lot to shock me, but I feel quite sickened tonight. They may argue for freedom of speech, but I have freedom of thought and also the freedom to chose. I have just read the GC board, and I am genuinely sick to my bone. That is just awful...The stuff about Gary, but also other things. I really am in disbelief about the human mind right now. These people are completely without reason or empathy. There are deep lying scars in them that stops them connecting to that part of thier brain. I suppose, is it as shocking as what Gary must have been going through in his mind without letting on? BTW, I find the jokes about dead people wrong, reguardless of who they are. Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse. They are wrong. Without question for me, they have family and friends. People who loved them. It is shocking that people can say awful things like that about them without any reguard.
Jager I don't ever go on the General chat forum, think I've only ever posted one comment since joining not606, because it's been allowed to descend into a cesspit, where mostly the dregs of society, and your usually low life exist, shame though this sports forum is associated with it, shame cypress has gone too, Mick will need to bite the bullet, and get all this crap of the sight, otherwise he'll lose all the decent footy supporters, who are here too discuss all things football, I am not happy with the disrespect shown to Gary Speed, and I think we should put an article up on the moderator board, condemning this junk, and getting it cleared off the sight. Hi Jager. Sorry to read this. It's the likes of you and quite a few others that keep a balance in forums like this. Without people like you, they would simply become a platform for uneducated sensationalism and sheer bad manners. I've had plenty of experience of how an internet forum can be an upsetting place to be, but over time, you get to trust people to see the idiots for exactly what they are. Most of the troublemakers seek simply to disrupt and annoy - cyber hooligans if you like. It really isn't worth leaving as a result of their behaviour - they'll just see it as funny. Don't give up to 'em mate - you're far better than the lot of them put together. Besides - you're one of the only one's that talks to me on here.

You are not alone Jager, this is one of the reasons I stepped down as a moderator from our board. Following on from what happened at the weekend and not just on GC I will be stepping away from the site after today also. While many will say - do not let the minority spoil it for the majority, sorry guys but sometimes it just is not that straight forward. The site was created and the stance was taken that no hard line moderating would take place and a certain amount of trust placed on to the shoulders of those using the site. That trust has been abused and the level of chat, in the main on GC, has gone downhill rapidly but I must emphasize it is not just on GC where this has happened. To that end, I no longer want to hang around and be associated with it either.
