On this day with the longest of nights There´s plenty of time then to dream, And recall and savour those delights So far, of our Premier League team, And although that cracker of a game Last night, had a goal of pure class, When Surman laid off, then took aim With his head, leaving all on the grass, The blockbuster header from Holt In front of the Kop, was for me, The best, and like a lightening bolt A spectacularly fond memory, But there were other gems through This half year, and moments so fine, Great goals, and defensively too Some last ditch tackles off the line, And all of the lads who have graced The shirt have proved how much they´ve grown, By not looking one bit misplaced In a league some thought they weren´t at home, So, a Merry Christmas it certainly is And a great New Year maybe ´twill be, So far things have gone with a fizz For our team and also Lambert P, With 21 points on the board Eight more than those down near the chop, I think we can all just afford Ourselves a smile and a wee drop, So , or as we say here, SKà L !! Let´s raise a glass to the whole team, And hope we can get on a roll When two thousand and twelve gets up steam. OTBC A very Merry Christmas, ´nots´ Yours,
merry christmas to you rbf. my highlight of the season so far was holt's thunderbolt versus liverpool at anfield. last nights goal was a wonderful move though and a terrific header. surman has really impressed me of late and i thought he was our best player last night. it seemed he had something to prove to his ex-employer!
Merry Christmas Lads Although I enjoyed Holt's goal more, I though the movement that led to Surman's goal was a class above. But what the hell, two great goals in the Premier League, may there be many more!
By not looking one bit misplaced In a league some thought they weren´t at home, Couldn't have put it better
Well done RBF, and a special thanks for all of your work on the line-up prediction league. It's even got to the point where my wife asks every week if I have my prediction in yet (she hates football, by the way)! I also liked Holt's header against Liverpool, but for me it was his goal against Chelsea, making a fool of Terry. I reckon City need 4 wins and 7 draws for 40 points and then we can relax and enjoy the rest of the season! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! OTBC!
