Lord Triesman names four FIFA officials who acted ‘unethically’ during the 2018 World Cup bidding process but states he did not report them in case it had a negative affect on England’s bid.

It does beg the question though: What would Lord Treisman have done if the England bid had been successful?

    Remain quiet no doubt.

We all want the ruling bodies of the national and international game to be run correctly but it’s never going to happen for fear of retribution.

The allegations will be aired to Blatter who has stated it’s his aim to ‘clean up’ FIFA and will make decisions on what to do once the evidence is presented to him.

We all know that FIFA et al are an ‘old boys clubs’ where it’s based on who you know and not what you know so one corrupt official will be removed and replaced with another potentially corrupt member and the FIFA PR machine will go into overdrive highlighting how it will not stand idle whilst corruption is sullying it’s glorious organisation.

Meanwhile a private memo will be sent to all members recommending the best Swiss bank accounts to use for ‘donations’.

    I despair.

    It's all about money
However if Treisman had of explained what had happened and even if necessary approached the media then it would have put more pressure on FIFA to make the election process more visible!
Furthermore FIFA is a bizare organisation where no-one oversees the organisation and does not have any legal ramifications!
Until this happens then it will continue

Sepp Blatter: "I am fighting for FIFA to clean FIFA. If this is true I will fight it."

Yeah right... Maybe fight against it being exposed.

To quote the great 1990's philosopher and philanthropist Bart Simpson, "You're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't".

As long as money is involved, morals and decency go out the window.
