What do you folks reckon are the nailed on certainties for the coming season ? As always we can be sure of shocking moments and various twists and turns. Who will flop ? Who will perform above expectations ? What signings will flourish ? and what other opinions have you ( however controversial ) on how this season will play out. On this occasion I will keep my cultured and insightful opinions to myself as they have drawn unnecessary abuse and harassment from other boards, and the rational debate that takes place on the PL board does not deserve that.
Man Utd Chelsea Man City Arsenal They will be the teams who finish in the top 4 again. Though not sure which order yet.
This will surely stimulate some intense debate. Many on the Liverpool board reckon that the signing of Firmino was ' Suarezesque ' and that a CL place is a certainty.
The plastic Goons screaming for wenger to go after their first bad result before calling him a genius after their next good one. Spurs to have a piss poor march and april Jose and wenger to piss eachother off and bore the rest of us stupid
Watford will be relegated. Probably with a record low points and goals for tally. Liverpool will feel hard done by. Chelsea will have under 30% possession in at least one home game. Steven Gerrard will not win the Premier League title.
Sadio Mane will dive all over the place and the media will ignore it. Then one of the high profile managers will complain about him and he'll be booked in every game until the end of the season. Mourinho will distract from a poor Chelsea performance by blaming everyone and everything in sight, including the advertising hoardings. He will then pick a fight with Wenger, talk some bollocks, win at least one trophy and have his arse licked by the press. Brendan Rodgers will use ridiculous management talk in post-match interviews. He will look overly smug when Liverpool win and vastly out of his depth when they lose.
Unfortunately PNP you are spot on with point no.1 and I hope he cuts it out of his game next season. His diving is so blatantly obvious it bring the club into disrepute.
I don't know why he does it. He's a very dangerous player and once he gets a reputation he'll be vulnerable to hatchet men.
Very true, he hits the deck when there is absolutely no need. I'm sure it will be addressed by the team internally. I thought that the diving at Saints would stop when Lallana buggered off.
Early on in the season Liverpool will win a game they're expected to win with one or two of their new signings putting in good performances. The fans will excitedly proclaim that it's all coming together, the squad looks good and a couple more signings in January could lead to a charge that may not finish with the title but should result in a top 4 finish and a good foundation for the next season. Also... Late on in the season Liverpool will lose a game they're expected to win with one or two of their new signings putting in poor performances. The fans will angrily proclaim that it's all falling apart, the squad looks weak and an overhaul of signings is needed in the summer if they're to have any chance of finishing in the top 4 next season.
My top predictions are as follows:- (1) Arsenal to mount no serious title challenge whatsoever (2) Spurs to finish above 'Pool, yet again (3) United to finish above Arsenal (4) Arsenal to bomb out of the CL before the last 16
I'm not sure how Saintsfan thinks he can even begin to speculate on what will happen 90 years into the football future but as for next season: Mourinho will have an increasing amount of hissy fits and blame the media for their 'campaign' every time the Chavs have a poor performance. LVG will do his best vein popping Fergie impression post match after the journos question his tactics. Rodgers will get the sack around Christmas time if Liverpool start the season badly. Or as soon as Ancelotti declares his interest. Whichever comes first Wenger will continue to talk about mental strength, belief and great spirit. Win, lose or draw HIAG will predict that Spurs will take 6 points off of Arsenal (wait, he has already done this ....)
You expect Spurs to take 6 points off of Arsenal. So do you think they will ? Or are your expectations in the realms of delusion ?
Now, now, don't stray into the arena of personal insults. We're all entitled to our expectations. The key thing to concentrate on is that I am not making a prediction, so you cannot come back and use it as yet another excuse to launch a personal attack on me, if Spurs take only 4 points off you (like last season), and not all 6.
Calm down ? How is that a personal insult ? Either you expect that Spurs will take 6 points of of Arsenal and you stand by it. Or you admit that your expectations could be deluded ? It can't be both.
