It's always worth bunging in a bid for these sorts of players. They know they will get to play in almost every game with a team like us whereas they may spend half the season warming the bench in some of the worlds top teams. The EPL is also strong draw for them, even in a team in the lower-half. It's happened before! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Well maybe not Barton, Bullard or Beckham but I agree with the sentiment, we really need someone here.

Motta just isn't going to happen. People after the big names havent learnt from QPR and even under Sven

NP pulled a blinder by getting Cambiasso but it doesnt mean we will get another on that level or that we need one

We need a quality premier League class midfielder not a world class midfielder. Cambiasso was amazing for us on many levels but we have to keep perspective on what were after

I will stop banging on about this soon, but in huddlestone you are replacing cambiassos corners, free kicks, most similiar passing range, likes playing from deep....

Motta would definitely be a great Cambiasso replacement, but I don't think we're going to get another WTF signing in midfield any time soon.

. disagree on certain aspects (first time in a while. :) ) .. Motta is unlikely I agree but the signing of Cambiass put a marker down for the club as to our intent and ambition (I'd also note that I suspect that Nigel Pearson 's involvement was only one of a number that secured Cambiasso's signing) ... I do expect us to compete for names and won't be surprised to see other 'well known ' signings'.because, quite simply ... money talks ... and we have it ..
