    I hope it happens. We've nowt concrete to win or lose, so why not? I'd have liked us to finish with 41 points with a win, sure, But we can't go on shouting about a lack of ambition, and then forfeit four good young players' chances for simple vanity. Go Sam, do it.

    If we can develop a few young lads it certainly would help the recruiting for next season easier as well as offloading some big earners and replacing them with lower wages. Hopefully that will then set a pattern for us going forward.

    another reason to like Big Sam.....Give the kids a go and see who is up to the job, you never know we could unearth another Rowell, Arnott or Elliott.

    He mentioned it on Goals on Sunday, we got better coverage on there than we did on Tyne Tees, that most aptly named regional programme.
