Basically players that could (or maybe should) have played at bigger clubs.

    Obvious ones.

SKP. Some player that lad. Certainly could have played for one off the big clubs.

Alan Sheera. Best striker the Prem has had. Although he won a Prem winners medal. His weird obsession with middle earth halted a potential bag full off medals.

Shearer isn't the best striker the premier league has ever had. He's scored the most but certainly not the best. I agree he could have played for a bigger club and I bet he secretly wishes he had have signed for Man Utd now. He would have won trophies galore.

I think Le Tissier could have played for a bigger club but hats off to him for staying loyal to Southampton.

Strikers are judged in goals. Shearer was magnificent at that.

Le Tiss. Good call. Great player..

Colin Todd, 2-times Championship winner of the First Division with Derby?

Outstanding player. Remember him rattling the crossbar at Roker from about 40 yards out.

Ronaldo would have beaten Shearer's record had he stopped at Man u.

Harry Kane has scored the same number of goals as Ronaldo but he's done it in 73 less games.

If Le Tiss was Brazilian he’d have been appreciated and probably played a lot more international football. He was a cracking and very underrated talent.

I was at Elland Road with my then best friend and his dad when Yeboah smacked that thunderbolt against Liverpool. They were trying to convert me <laugh>

Alex? Sabella best performance ever imo at the old and much missed Roker Park, phenomenal skill, think he is now a manager back in Argentina.

Not really tecognised outside Sunderland 'till he left -a magnificent defender while he was here.
Monty -probably the best uncapped keeper at the time

We used to have a Centre Half who was 18 when he signed and stayed with us till near the end of his career.

Second Division or First Division, he stayed loyal, the best Centre Half in the Country.
True he collected Irish Caps but no top trophies that could have been his if he had moved.

I believe that Charlie liked us as much as we liked, (and still like) him.

Perhaps he would say that being voted by the Fans as The Sunderland Player of The Century was worth all the trophies going.

Love it, but in reality he did make it, for us and Ireland, a true true legend. <bubbly>
