Martin O’Neill clear favourite to be the next Liverpool manager
    January 22nd, 2012 04:18 PM

While there are only minor rumbles of discontent at the perfromance of Kenny Dalglish as the Liverpool manager that could change if results do not improve soon and based on lasts nights perfromance against Bolton it is difficult to see things getting that much better any time soon.

Dalglish has a lot to answer for, it is his management skills that will come under the microscope if the Liverpool players do not perform better than they have been doing and it is Dalglish that has to carry some of the blame for the signings made since he took charge of the club.

The bookies already have a market up on who will be the next Liverpool manager and that should come as no surprise, even to the most ardent Dalglish admirer, given the performance of Liverpool this season and it is Martin O’Neill, the new Sunderland boss, that predictably leads the market.

Stan James go an appalling 2/1 that O’Neill will replace Dalglish, Skybet go a far better 4/1, however in both cases O’Neill is the favourite.

Skybet make Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas as second favourite along with Jose Mourinho, who is also second in the betting with Stan James.

It is Mourinho that is the most interesting candidate, he has stated his admiration for the Anfield outfit in the past and the timing could be spot on come the end of the season, especially if Real Madrid win La Liga and Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League.

It is probably too early to even be considering Dalglish leaving Liverpool, but that scenario is not too far off if things do not imporve soon.

they can go & get ****ed

    Next Liverpool manager!!!
Whilst I reckon this is complete crap I don't think "King Kenny" has long left at Anfield.
Even some locals are starting to see what I have always thought.
Kenny Dalglish is a vastly overrated manager.

They couldn't afford the compensation. Starts at £100m.

That should put the bin dippers off. Anyway, we could overtake them in a few weeks time at this rate.

No chance, he wouldn't even take the job. He's not money orientated, or high profile club orientated, he's ambition driven and where else better to fulfill his boyhood ambitions?

    Scouse ****s can F.R.OFF.

I'm not even 1% concerned by this.

Liverpool will do there usual trick of keeping a failing manager in-situ for several years, and MON is managing his club, and you can see he is loving every second of it.

What an odd delusion for anyone to hold at this stage in O'Neills career! I'll bare my arse in Burton's window if this happens.

I live in Sunderland half the year (here at the moment and heading back to the Great White North in March) and I believe there are no more 'Burtons'... that's how little chance there is of this happening.
