The greats poll has inspired me to post something I was thinking about a couple of weeks ago - what would be the best team for those who came through our ranks? My XI is as follows: David James; Nigel Gibbs, Steve Terry, Robert Page, Paul Robinson (capt); Gary Porter (I appreciate he's out of position), Kenny Jackett; Nigel Callaghan, Ian Richardson, Jimmy Gilligan and finally Ashley Young. My sub keeper would be Richard Lee, LD and Aidy Mariappa could cover all the defensive positions between them. I get a bit stuck after that with the exception of Luther up front - the only reason he hasn't made the first XI is that I wanted a partnership.

Tony Currie - probably the best midfield player we developed. He should be in.
Doesn't John Barnes count as he started at QPR sort of ?
Robert Page as captain - no brainer !

It's another one of those that depends on your age. I never saw Currie play for WFC. John Barnes was signed from non-league Sudbury Court. I admit it was close between Robbo and Page for captain, although I almost forgot about Page and was going to have David Holdsworth in the team.
