Looks like AA is now the target for several Premiership clubs and who can doubt their wisdom? So what do you think are the chances we could lose both Albert and Nicky in the near future and how would it affect our team's future?

Realistically we must expect to be a selling team until such time as we put our general house in order when we can go back in to the buying phase. Currently we are repairing the damage done to our team by previous managers and time will tell how we get through this transitional stage to re-emerge under DM as a balanced team better equipped to provide a sustainable future and challenge.

Times they are a changing! Embrace it and enjoy!

I dont think Albert will go in january one reason will be if he gets picked for the african nations most the teams mentioned would have the money for him but may not gamble on a player who could come back injured! in mid febuary

But i do think if he continues his form and plays like that at african cup of nations! then he will simply be gone in the summer and the likely even more prem even foreign clubs could come looking as the african cup is a real shop window!

AA is an exciting prospect but he is quite a long way from being the finished article and IMO would be well out of his depth in the Prem.

How long a contract did he sign when he came from Barnet ?

FORGONE CONCLUSION I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT....WHAT ARE THE DATES HE WILL BE GONE???

REMEMBER BURNLEY? Old First division days.........stayed there for years, small crowds but every year seemed to have at least 1 or 2 money spinners to keep them solvent...........

AA and NM gone, SL donates a couple weeks interest on his investments and we start 2012 2013 with a clean sheet.........

It has already been stated that only a phenomenal bid would induce the City board into selling Albert. To my mind, the only club type he would go to would be Man City/Chelsea or one of the big Euros. Nobody else could afford what we would ask.
Let them look from a distance in awe and wonder. His worth will grow and grow

AA is not of the callibre to join Man City / Chelsea and they simply have no stomach to buy a player and develop them - they want instant success. The likes of Fulham / Everton are more likely.

The good news, unlike with Maynard, is that the Board was smart enough to offer him an extension after his first season and so I believe we have 2 more years left once this season is done. Therefore, unless SL says so, no need to sell.

I think it is going to depend on the offer, remember we lost out on possibly 6 million in the summer with Maynard.
If the offers good 5 - 6 million plus with a good sell on clause I think it would be stupid to turn it down.
Probably get shot down for this but we only paid 50k so it would make good business sense, I will be gutted when it happens though.

Agreed Redordead - we would be foolish to turn down that sort of cash and the beauty of having a player under a decent term contract is that the buying club cannot short change us. Would, of course, also need to factor in if Barnet had any sort of sell on clause as that could alter the dynamic considerably.

It is interesting that befoe it was all talk about Maynard and who he would be going to and now all the attention is on Albert who has now overshadowed Maynard so may be clubs in January may still over look Maynard

Albert is worth a fortune, this would require a large amount of money to prize him away.

AA is our most valuable asset.
In another 2 years he will be a target for everyone.
If he shines at the African Nations he could attract interest from anyone, with any amount involved

They can look but they can't touch! he has just under 3 years on his contract so if we were serious, I would start the bidding at 10 million, I am serious if anybody asks.

As he has 3 years left on contract his true value and price that we would accept must be miles apart.

    Value: 4-5 million
What would we accept: 8 million plus I reckon based on how the Maynard saga went. IMO Albert is worth more to us than NM...

Realistically anything over £2m is good business given what we paid for him.

What in January? You must be mad! Who could you realistically replace him with for that money?

No offence but that is ridiculous! yes we did buy him for nothing, but he has two and half years left on his contract. Nicky has 10 months left and was price tagged for 6m! Albert is a better player with a longer contract, 10 million to start!

I don't think we'd get 10 million, I'd guess if someone wanted him they would start at 2-3 and maybe go up to 5-6 but probably no more. There is no way we'd sell for that at this stage, unless he hands in a transfer request...
