The FourFourTwo love hate vote shows that everybody still loves us. We are second from votes by representatives of other clubs.....behind Everton Clubs admired 1 Everton 35% 2 Southampton 20% 3 Arsenal 15% Also popular among the neutrals were Southampton ("I’d like them to regroup and do well this season after they’ve been raided over the summer," said Spurs man Mike Wynn); Arsenal ("Great ground, consistent decision making and not just been pumped with money from an owner" - Rob Fisher, Everton) and Crystal Palace ("Amazing what they did last season" - Asa Clark, Chelsea). The most hated players caught my eye: 1 John Terry 20% 2= Ashley Young 10% 2= Kevin Nolan 10% 2= Joey Barton 10% The comment from the Southampton representative: West Ham's Kevin Nolan ("I’ve seen that stupid chicken dance far too often" - Sam Dobson, Southampton) One very interesting one is that the man the media proclaimed 'The people's Choice' is actually the most hated How wrong could the media have been on that one: Managers hated 1 Harry Redknapp 25% 2 Jose Mourinho 20% 3 Alan Pardew 15% The full article: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features...you-love-and-loathe-ffts-pre-season-fans-poll
Some fans said we were a laughing stock which I doubted. Apart from the obvious ones, most fans enjoy seeing someone take on the big guys and we received a lot of praise last season. I'm sure people were fascinated by our plight (like gawping at a train wreck), but I never swallowed that 'laughing stock' image. And why would you care anyway...I was too worried about what was actually going on to give a damn about what outsiders thought. However, nice to be loved.
West Ham fans were giving us gyp for losing our players. Losing 3-1 and a chant of "Where's all our players gone" had them heading for the exits.
