By the looks of the predictions on here, half of the fans expected us to turn up and win as well. Not to worry, we move on.. and **** up Peterborough next week!
I would agree, though no doubt Bruce will be getting grief should the likes of Elmo, Quinn, Brady, Meyler or Aluko get injured!
Id completely swap teams again. If we get people injured or suspended then we need the back up with as much game time under their belts as possible. And as stated a couple of posts earlier, I can just see the responses should Chessy break his leg at Orient...
I thought this as well, however lets say they beat Orient 0-3 they'll start thinking they're world beaters again and f uck it up against Posh again. I'd make em all travel down and watch the game, but not play! They need to treat Posh as though they're playing Barcelona next week.
I would agree, but unfortunately I was dumb enough to buy my ticket for next Saturday two weeks in advance, and I'd quite like to see us play our first team. That way we might at least scrape a draw.
I'd still change most of the team but I'd play Aluko and Prossy up front. We need people like Aluko to be in form for the rest of the season and he's just doing nothing at all, I get the impression if he gets one goal he might pick up a bit but it needs to come soon. The guy is supposed to be our best attacking player.
Jakupovic is now expected to be fit for the Orient game, so he'll play........now for the other ten.....
I agree to an extent but the risk of getting key players injured or suspended outweighs the need for our first team to right their wrongs. The first team can do that on saturday when it really matters.
Winning breeds confidence. We have now gone three games without winning. Regardless of the competition we need to be winning tomorrow; Jako Rosie Chester McShane Bruce Brady Cairney Meyler Quinn Prossie Simpson Cracknell Elmo Hobbs Evans Koren Aluko Wilson
And what would you do if, say Chessy and Aluko snapped their cruiciates at Orient on a hard, weather beaten pitch? Or if we get some minor injuries or suspensions for a crucial match and we need our stiffs to step up to the plate yet they have hardly played in recent weeks? It isnt a case of rewarding them by 'giving them a match off', its about avoiding injuries, resting up slight knocks and giving the stiffs as much game time in non-essential matches as possible.
A foolish move IMO, unless they have had a rocket up their arses, we will be in for another long night and thats the last thing we need at the moment. The first teamers need to get back to winning ways.
I posted this on the Stockdale thread, but probably fits better here. Changing teams wholesale for cup games destroys momentum, loses continuity and the lack of matches makes players lose their edge. It simply doesn't work and I despair at managers who think that it has any benefits. Examples: 2003/2004: Cruising. We have are on a 15 game unbeaten run. We dick around with the team for an AMC game (1-3 defeat) then a cup game (1-3). After that we have our worst performance of the season in the league - the loss at Huddersfield - and its 3 more games before the next win. 2004/2005: Cruising. 9 (nine) wins on the trot. Change the team for the cup, 0-2 defeat followed by 5 league games without a win.
Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham Aluko (Achilles) & Koren (heel) haven't travelled with #hcafc today. Brady & Meyler also not involved. Weren't registered for initial game.
Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham Jakupovic will be in goal with Cracknell on the bench. No transfer dealings imminent.
