As I said as couple of weeks ago in the "what now" thread, just we we seem at rock bottom and no one can see where the next point is coming from, we pick up - this is us, Bristol City and our season has gone like this since Gary Johnson arrived at the club, its all there in black and white. IMHO, it is no coincidence that we have picked up since our owner visited a couple of weeks ago - I expect that he expressed to the players that DM is going nowhere and if anyone would be replaced, it was them which he has since backed up with the arrival of Danns and Wilson (MKIII), seems like the penny maybe slowly dropping and the players are knuckling down and getting on with it. Sounded like a fabulous performance from Joe Bryan, when Greg comes back, he has to start LM or even winger... I have great faith that DM will eventually build us back into a proper, functional football team and as Shiny said on another thread, how great is it that we now have not one but 2 real quality left sided players in Joe Bryan and Greg Cunningham. I've got news, the accademy is being re-stocked and we will have a lot more quality youngsters coming through in the next year or 2. Steve Davies, IMO, is better than this division and Sam Baldock in a resurgent side will be deadly. There is a way to go yet and it takes a long time to re-build a club from the bottom up - Derek must be allowed to complete the job until he can fit all of the right pieces into the puzzle and then, we will find that consistancy that is the key to upward movement and go some....
I did say Prem, with a couple of tweeks regarding players it could be put right. Like you say, there is along way to go.
its all about confidence. So maybe SL's little chat with the players was along the lines of - "you are better than this, so go out and prove it."
What a superb performance in the face of adversity and the fog. We certainly hit rock bottom against Charlon and what we must guard against now is what the financial markets call "Dead Cat Bounce". This happens when falling share prices hit the bottom, then rise a bit only to drop back almost immediately. We are now out of the bottom three and must do our utmost to stay out of it for the rest of this season. Well played to everyone but a special mention for a star of the future Joe Bryan and one of the past in Louis Carey. According to radio commentary, both were outstanding today. Thank you.
Two wins v Cardiff and Palace and fans get giddy. Then months of awful football. A draw and a win fans get giddy. Weird sketch is check the centre halves. Fans doubted Louis Carey, bloke is 110%.
