...four weeks ago, would we have been satisfied with the signing of two 'unknown' Egyptians who have not played since March (is it?), plus Meyler and Brady of course, with the possibility of Elmo also?? Indeed I think that we will do more 'business' in the emergency loan market from the end of feb!
If those 4/5 can keep us within reach of the top 2 for the next couple of weeks and we can further strengthen in the emergency window, I dont see a problem with it. However, I think we will fall short if that is all of our business done for the season.
There's no doubt the Egyptian players weren't our first choice otherwise we could have picked them up earlier in the window. SB and / or the club have waited until other targets have gone, but if these are our last signings you can bet there'll be a Press conference to announce that they were SB's 'first choice' signings all along.
I just hope if they come, they do well for us. The whinging from certian sections of our support for the past month has been uncalled for.
I will be happy with the Egyptians coming in. If they are not up to it then we have the emergency loan to fall back on
No signing can ever make promotion a sure thing ... Even if we had got Wood and DJ... I think the Allams have spent enough . If we don't go up there's always next season .. Or the one after ... It's a shame that the Allams haven't got a partner in who could help with the spending , someone local if possible . Having said all that I do hope we can get Elmo back .
Not especially. I think it was important to sign Brady and Meyler, and I hope that we get Elmo back. But I am underwhelmed by the prospect of the 2 Egyptians if I'm honest. If they haven't played since March that is nearly 12 months. It is going to take them time to get fit, match fit, get used to the climate and culture here, get used to their team-mates, get used to the pace etc of the Championship. I personally doubt that they will significantly improve us. I hope I'm wrong mind you.
such apathy.. Where's your ambition lad? views like this make me angry. no wonder Hull is such a **** hole - everyone accepts mediocrity as the norm.
Bruce had a 3 year plan. I take it you're the sort that won't be content with us only spending a small amount on transfers if we did go up this season.
It's not that mr patty and chips . I think we have done great this season to be were we are . I Want City to go up as much as anyone and I still think we will. Just not the end of the world IF we don't ..
To all the panic heads and hissy fitters out there may i suggest that you read this article. It just about sums up the January transfer window and why the Allams and Steve Bruce are playing it correctly at the moment. Even DJC is finding a club hard to find now. Greedy B'stard. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ansfer-window-doesnt-work--Martin-Samuel.html A very good read. It all started @ TWS.!!!
