    Dave Whelan -
"The Liverpool hierarchy is non-existent at present. We played there about three months ago and there was not one soul in the boardroom.
"There doesn't seem to be any heart in the club. I was a little disturbed because to me Liverpool is one of the great football clubs.
"There's no heart beating in the club. You've got to put the heart in Liverpool."

What the frigging hell is happening?
There seems to be no leadership at the top as what happened with the Suarez incident.

Look like Dalglish was left with a rudderless ship to deal with.

Calm down dear. The owners have a plan. Check out the Ayre interview.

It's funny coming from Dave Whelan considering his club only has about 10k fans turn up to matches.

  4. Although a very honourable and trust worthy guy, Dave Whelan can also be full of himself at times too.

He said there was no one to greet him in the director's box etc, leading him to believe the club had no heart, whatever that means in reality.

As the interview ended, the radio presenter brought up the facts - there were 3 club officials present, including I believe Ayre, a life-long fan and now high ranking official at the club. Whelan was simply been over-dramatic, as genuine a guy as he is.

Carra has said, "Liverpool fans probably don't want to hear it, but it is an achievement getting into the top four. It is different to what it was a long time ago."

Seems like a lot of heart going missing. No doubt the Wembley appearance he was so desperate for has helped his transition to this heartless commercial attitude.

I haven't been in the banter thread since its inception but I'm betting you'd have to look long and hard to find any mention of, "We've got more top four finishes than you."

The money men have created this with marketing and the modern fan laps it up. Sucking on Satan's seed. Get £30m then drop down to the Europa at the hands of Basle, then out of the Europa to Bilbao. Oh, the glory. Bring on the bragging rights. A bit ironic that Bilbao is owned by the fans.

The money men will disappear one day, because it's just business and Capitalism runs on boom and bust, then our game will be returned to us. heart and all.

    Long live the King.

It's two different beasts that need to co-exist, the money and the football, unless you are happier to follow the Amateur Liverpool club, which was set up to offer an alternative to the cash cow.

I'm delighted with Ian Ayre, scouser made good, with him in place, I have some faith in the club staying on the rails. Let him do what he does well, and be happy that there are dozens of Liverpool football schools in Egypt, and that we sell shirts all over the world. Because, bottom line, that should not have any effect on the club, other than there should be a transfer budget each window that the manager can use.

The other side of the coin is the club, and I think we will be in good shape as long as we keep a couple of local lads in the team, and other players like Pepe get adopted. No manager can totally change a club, I think we will come through this in good shape, no matter who they appoint.

The fact that no-one showed Dave Wheelan to his seat doesn't make me loose any sleep, no-one ever showed me to a seat, and I got there OK in the end. I don't recall there being a section about pandering to visiting owners in "The Liverpool Way"

I've supported the club since 1968. Why should I have to go elsewhere? If you're a fan you're a fan for life. If you're a business you're in it for profit. I can wait them out.

The two co-exist like money and the music business. How many hits do you think a bank record label could get based on their ability to invest? Football is more uncertain than the stock market. Anybody who thinks there are cash cows are going to get milked. Who's got cash? Utd have the bond thing. Barca have huge debts. Abramovich couldn't buy a top four finish. Real are propped up by local politics.

    Mooooooooooooooooooooo.
