The Hull guys are pretty confident of victory on their match thread.

I think it will be 1-1

Swansea manager Garry Monk makes seven changes as he looks to halt a run of two Premier League games without a win. Top scorer Wilfried Bony is on the bench with French striker Bafetimbi Gomis handed a start. Gylfi Sigurdsson (foot), Leon Britton (knee) and Jefferson Montero (hamstring) are all out but Federico Fernandez and Tom Carroll return to the side along with goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski .

Swansea City XI: Fabianski, Richards, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Carroll, Shelvey, Dyer, Routledge, Gomis.

There are 7 changes from last week - Fabianski, Jazz, Fernandez, Dyer, Carroll, Jonjo and Gomis.

I presume a combination of injuries and Monk wanting to "nurse" and rotate players over the festive period.

Edit - You beat me to it Musty! <wah>

He can find that out when he goes. Bony should be in the team.

Could be a mistake making so many changes. We need to win this, so don't understand why he's changing a team that played well last match.

My thinking on this may be that if Gomis looks pants today, Monk is thinking we need someone new up front when Bony is away, rather than Gomis being the replacement for Bony.
Also - it may affect if we let Gomis go should a bid come in for him in January. At least if things are not going well today - he has the option to sub Gomis for Bony.....

Stereo - I agree with you completely! Hull have won just 25 points this calendar year, they really are on a bad run. Plus it's 6 days before the Villa game. Two wins would put us in good heart for the trips to Anfield and Loftus Road.....

7 changes but still a strong team. Bony going to Africa in January so Gomis has to start to get match fit at some point. Monk might also use this to see if he is good enough to fill the void in Bony's absence. If Gomis is pants today, I think Monk will get a new striker in January. If he plays well, he knows he will have a run of 6-7 games to show he's good enough and stake a claim for the starting spot when Bony comes back. Also glad that Gylfi is on the bench. We need him fresh for the Xmas period.
Good to see Fernandez and Fabianski back.

    Edit: Just seen Stereo's post #14 <ok>

    Very interesting line-up.

Put-up time for Gomis. Shelvey gets to start in probably his best role with a solid Ki and Carroll combination behind him as a foundation. If Shelvey has it this is the time and setup to show it.

    Fed's back ... amen.

Because of injuries. Pretty simple to understand really.
