Yesterday for the first time we looked out of place
But then they were frighteningly good,
And to lose against them is no great disgrace
And we certainly did all we could

I can´t help think however we´d approached this
Whether trying to stifle their game,
Or take the game to them, we still would have missed
And the result would have ended the same

I don´t think a four goal defeat was unfair
There was that difference on the day,
And playing like that, they´ll pick up their share
Of points, no matter how others play

But they´re up in their league, and we´re here in ours
Such is the way of the PL,
And yesterday we just felt the awesome power
They have, when things work for them well

Agreed, we shot ourselves in the foot once
Or twice maybe, but let´s not muse,
You´d need to be pretty much a complete dunce
To think that´s what caused us to lose

The difference between the top 6 and the rest
Is vast, and is widening more,
Just a plain fact, whether it´s for the best
Who knows, I´m in doubt on that score

But our aim, must be to win the B-League
Or at least to end mid-table there,
And so far we´re well on the way to succeed
And doing so will bring us cheer. OTBC

    Have a good week all,

    Yours,

Many a true word spoken in verse!

For the first time, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth which started in the run up to the game. The gap is purely driven by wealth, as everyone knows, and I wondered lots of things including, how much happier would the city fans be, if they'd achieved their success through a more traditional route, bringing young mancunians etc through youth ranks, rather than being owned by a Sheikh. I hope he just decides to leave the club and leave them in the ****e.

Hi RBF - asd you so rightly say, there was a huge gap in ability between us , but I don't think we disgraced ourselves! We allowed them 1 goal less than United did - and THEY were at home!

Totally agree longsight, much prefer success, if it were to be achieved, was done the hard way.

I'm sure you'd have a different opinion if the boot was on the other foot, having utd rammed down your throat is difficult to swallow and I don't look back longing for Jamie pollock to grace our midfield in place of David Silva

I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy it and having lived in Manchester for the past decade, have always sided with city. It just brought it home even more that it's a game driven purely by money and that at the end of the day is a shame. Manchester thanks sheikh mansour, that must bring a warm feeling!

I think we are probably very shallow because I don't know any city fan who gives a **** where the money comes from

Really, I know lots of old fella's who harp on about colin Bell and Malcolm Allinson was a showman, but paying arrogant fecks over 200,000 a week is ludicrous. You mean you never think that

The attitude of some of the arseholes is irritating but I suppose if you can't have one without the other ill take the sheikh every time.In many ways because we couldn't offer champions league football,we could only really attract the mercenary type but they are being whittled out

oh well, guess I'll have to start siding with utd, now they're the underdog in manchester. Just wonder how long the high plastic percentage at OT will take to switch to the ES.

I can categorically say, that if a Sheik whatsit, or a muti-million dollar anyone should take over our club, I would be most disappointed, probably just my age, but it just wouldn´t be the club I´ve supported for 50 years, there really is no great achievement in buying your way to success. If that´s how you felt was the only way to compete with United, then so be it, but wouldn´t it have been even more worthy, if you´d managed to do it, without?

Of course everyone would prefer to do it the traditional way but with the way the top clubs had tied up the champions league cash made it impossible for anyone to sustain any challenge without something manufactured.Last season alone Utd got £42million from the champions league so surely that manufactured cash cow is at least to blame to the current state of affairs?

Agreed, the champions league has a lot to answer for. Aside from the cash, it's now just a glorified uefa cup. surely it should just be for the champions, I realise I;m now sounding like an old git

We know football´s gone mad, and I´m not trying to lay the blame at anyone´s door in particular, but I´m just wondering how you yourselves feel, about more or less having it delivered on a plate.

I've been watching utter garbage for years, never seen us win anything before last seasons FA cup and I won't be too surprised if it all eventually goes tits up but I still think its preferable to taste a bit of success manufactured than watch on enviously as the neighbours win title after title

So paul, are you going to change your name to da silva;s left foot, rather than your mancunian captain of yesteryear, who had a great tache and left foot. I doubt it, there is still a football soul inside you.

It can be a bit flat sometimes.Funny game really, never a 5-1 performance,we've played far far better than that.Perhaps if it had been a bit more end to end it would have been a better performance. As soon as Lambert saw kolo toure at the back on the teamsheethe he should have changed tactics and gone for it
