Now that it has been confirmed that Sally McCoist is Rangers worse ever Manager in the SPL, what can we expect next from Govan? Will Sally hold on to his job ? or will Whyte show more tolerance than SDM showed to Paul Le Guen, who had won more games and accumulated more points after the same number of games. Poor Paul had by this time suffered a torrid onslaught, not only from the Rangers henchmen in the media, but even his captain turned against him. The Bears have always tried to brush off that the reason for his rash dismissal had nothing to do with his religion. If Sally stays it will prove it wasn't the poor form on the pitch. What worries me most is that after Celtic beat Rangers in roughly the corresponding game last year all the most outrageous bullying, threatening and actual attempts to injure Neil Lennon, two Wee six players and supporters and fans began. I hope that has been left behind last season, but it doesn't augur well when some Rangers posters could not wait until the game was over to post how horrible Neil looked and try to provoke possibly the same again. I am sure that when fat Sally gets sacked, it won't be on the basis of his looks, at least I hope so because most Celtic fans would like Sally to last a very long time.
McCoist annoys me at times, many managers do but i've no doubt he's a decent guy. I doubt they'll sack him as it's his first season and he is a Rangers man when all is said and done. Le Guen may have had more points but was he not about 4th in the league at the time of his "Mutual agreement"?
Harry I think he did. I think Le Geun proved that Rangers were not fit for a R.C Manager and Barry did what all good captain's should do. He conveyed the majority of the players feelings and the fans he drank with to SDM. Le Geun would probably lasted longer if he had not promised to bring the team on a tour of the Vatican at the season end.
Le geun tried to get Rangers to play football , the fans and players didn't like it , back to kicking everything that moves . A negative style resulting in hoofing it up the park , to play football the Glasgow Rangers way !!!
I don't think we'll see a repeat of last season's behaviour. The spotlight is on the situation too much and we've already seen fans jailed for comments posted on sites like Facebook. No doubt if Rangers do fall further behind the usual mutants who inhabit sites like FF will try and stir up trouble but I think even they realise that they can't go as far as last season or they're likely to face a knock at the door. As for McCoist, I think you have to put things in context, just like we did with Lennon last season. Despite probably serving the longest apprenticeship in football, it's still his first managerial job and he's been badly let down by the Whyte Night and his promises of war chests and making quality signings. I still think, however, if he was to fall far behind in the league and get KO'd from the Scottish Cup the huge pressure on him from the fans would probably force him into walking away.
That's right, and if an ankle or a shin appears all the better. The most amazing award if in football was Rangers acclaiming John Greig, as I think a member of their Hall of Frame. He captained Rangers, all through Celtic 9-in -a- row and broke legs regularly (not his own). He was a signed up member of the kick and rush along side his partner Ron McKinnon. Harry, on Wednesday night I was amazed at the lack of effort Rangers put into the last 40 minutes. If I (God Forbid) was a Rangers fan I would be very worried.
