<applause>

Thank God they're finally on the fans' side. Hope they're banned from Elland Road so there is even more attention drawn to this superb article about why the Howson sale was more than just the superficial issue of 'yeah well we got 500k for an "inconsistent" injured player whose contract was expiring'.

Fact of the matter is, players have been sold, the money has not been re-invested. Bates talks about a wage cap, but where has the transfer and cup run money gone? If you ignore the characters and simply look at the facts, the Leeds fans are being milked like a cow. There is no ambition to get into the Premier League, all we are getting are freebies and loans to paper over the cracks.

Fab article by Gary Walker. He looks like a journalist that is not afraid to talk his mind, whatever the repercussions are, and believe me, there will be repercussions. Hope he draws a wedge in between Bates and the club. Even if Bates splashes out a few million between now and 31st January, its too little, too late

Thanks for that. It has cheered me up no end that at last the YEP has, as you say, "smelt the cofee"

Bates will respond no doubt in his own way and will continue on his own sweet way.

The lack of ambition will eventually lead to dwindling support and then and only then might he take steps to arrest the decline.

I sent an email to the Yep Phil Hay and asked them if Johnson Press had forbidden him to question bates ,if they were afraid of getting banned from ER by the cretin Like the YEN were in the late 50,s with Ron Crowther ,who used to write his match report from the kop, after been banned from the press box it was entitled Heartbreak Hill .Looks to me like history repeating itself . HE DID NOT REPLY NOR DID HE REPLY THE PREVIOUS WEEK, so you can make of that what you will my view is they are scared of the dictator

I can't believe that any fans are blind to the fact that Bates is holding this club back.

Although, if the players had turned up against Watford in the play off final we mighten be having this conversation.

Great article, didn't get on here last night so that just cheered my lunch time right up.

This is exactly what we need, people are starting to see what's happening, and they aren't standing for it any more. It might have taken a while, and unfortunately it looks like it has taken the sale of our Captain to wake people up, but at least it is happening.

I can't imagine how enraged Bates is that the news got leaked just before the season ticket renwals. No doubt he was keeping it under wraps until the majority had renewed. Howson's last hurrah as a Leeds fan? (joking of course, but wouldn't that be a nice thought...)

Matteo's article is excellent too. You can almost feel his frustration as well.

"Howson will be excited by this move. He’s right to be excited. But he’ll be disappointed too – disappointed that he’s gone as far as he feels he can with Leeds. Some will criticise him for turning his back on his hometown club. Personally I think he’s making a hard decision and getting it right. Soon he’ll be a Premier League footballer and no-one at Elland Road can guarantee him that."

sums it all up really!

Very sad times.

Another BATES disciple Lorimer as come out with the classic its for the good of the club ,exactly what I said they would come out with months ago .Make no mistake Delph was got in for a month on the cheap to appease the morons sorry fans.He wanted it under wraps the Howson affair until the end of the month like he did with gradel only someone let it out of the bag I think it could have been Grayson who must be absolutly fed up of losing his best players and having to do with scraps!

If villa don't get injury's think it will be for rest of season with Delph,Howson with 2 months left of contract by time he's expected to be back, had to take money but should never have been left till now.
Was going to boycott tom's game but want to see Delph.<sorry>
