Christian Paulson says he wants to stay and play for his place. On SSN he says he hopes to have more game time and says he hopes his international career will be enhanced by being in the side!! This is more depressing than the London riots. At least with players like Cole or N'Gog there is a chance that they may turn a game with a goal or a bit of skill. With Paulson there is no expectation...none..nada..zilch.(actually reading this back this sounds like how we were talking about Lucas a season or so ago) He was the one player, after Konchesky, who I hoped to see go but looks like he may stay..maybe because no-one wants him.I know he is saying the things you would expect him to say when asked a question like that but all the same someone, somewhere must want him.
If he wants to stay and fight then good luck to him. Hopefully it means that when/if he does play then he'll play with heart and determination. You can't have a go at the fella for that no matter how utter ****e he is
Its nice he wants to put the effort in, but unfortunatlly he has zero ability to back it up. I'd put plenty of effort in and to be fair im a better passer of the ball than poulson, and i can tackle better, actually if he can where the red shirt theirs hope for us all.
Fine if it brings out a side we haven't seen before but the bigger picture is that he takes a place in the squad that could be filled by someone else and is also another large drain on our wage bill.I'm not knocking him for saying what he did but if him staying means we don't sign a CB then will you be happy that he's 'fighting for his place' As it is at the moment he brings nothing to the team.
He is a terrible player and in the DM position we will start with Lucas and Sprearing as back up I would even play Coady ahead of him.
Very interesting quote! "I haven't heard anything from Liverpool; I am trying to be fit for the new season. So I think they want me at the club and I am happy to be there and unless they tell me something different, I am a Liverpool player for the coming season.
He is so far down the pecking order he is never going to play. Think he must be on a good wage and happy to take the money for no effort. the players ahead of him: Gerrard Aqualani Adam Lucas Spearing Shelvy Meireles Coady Spearing Me My Nan.
surely a bit of exaggeration here... the worst news ever? I thought the training ground had an outbreak of ebola and we'd be starting the season with the u13 players.... Its only poulsen....
The cynical view that he's after the money for nothing may be true, but I take it none of us knows the man personally so can't speak with any authority on the matter. Equally, he may feel that he wants to give his best effort for the club that employs him. You can't blame someone for not being good enough, only for not putting in the effort you know they're capable of. If he's prepared to try his best then good on him. I agree Poulson is not good enough for Liverpool, it's up to the management to get rid if they see no place for him. Personally I think the riots are rather worse news.
I reckon he'll get the hint and will look for a move when Morten Olsen threatens him like he did Bendtner and says unless your playing first team football, your not playing for Denmark. Then he will be gone...He'll probably last until January.
my opinion on poulsen for the record... every young player he's partnered in midfield have looked terrible alongside him.... when released from his shackles the player slike spearing suddenly look far beeter. I think he hodls them back and actively discourages players going forward ebside him. a good organiser for sure but when its all negative its not so good.
He's that bad...Hodgson hasn't brought him to West Brom, and he usually signs players he managed before...He signed Zoltan Gera from Fulham. Maybe we should demand that Hodgson signs him or we demand that he pays his compensation back, and he also signs El Zhar and Degen as punishment for inflicting Poulsen and Konchesky on us.
He seems in capable of passing the ball forwards, then perhaps he'd do a better job as a Central defender if we ever find ourselves short? He'd only have the keeper to pass back to then.
He seems incapable of passing the ball forwards. Well at least we didn't pay £18.6 million for him, Carrick is incapable of passing the ball forwards either.
