    england to win cup 66/1

    england to reach semis 40/1

    england to reach q/f 25/1

england to win a game 10/1

1st game v italy in amazon jungle, 3500 mile round trip

italy, uraguay, england and cost rica.

remember woy there are more pirhana in the amazon than the rea brook. if england can acclimatise in a sauna for 4 weeks they may be match fit. 1 point in englands favour is the climate is as bad for italy as us. can england beat costa rica?

Blimey 'England win a game' that's optimistic odds!

Painful times ahead, let's hope my pessimism is overcome by some decent football.

Well the betting league extends to include the W/C this year, so we'll see! I'm just going to try and enjoy the tournament - if England get through, great, but if not there should still be plenty of cracking games.

I think there is a lot more realism about England's chances than in recent years when we have struggled to perform as expected against some 'weaker' sides. We will do well to get out of our tough group but if we do the next round against one of the teams from one of the weakest groups looks winnable. Due to the conditions being against us I would say getting to the quarter-finals and giving some young players valuable big tournament experience would be a reasonable outcome.
