He only has 12 months left on his contract, I don't see us holding out for to much more than 3 mill for him.

There have been several daft stories about us in the Mirror over the past week.

That seems a reasonable figure for a player going down to the Championship, if we stay up his value would be more

But surely the point is it's not worth selling him for £3m, unless he demands a transfer. He wont be a massive earner, he's young, knows the Championship and almost certainly has his best years ahead of him. Hudd - yes I'd take £3m but it's just not worth it for Chester.

Chester is one I wouldn't like to see go, but if he wants EPL football, and with a year left on his contract, then if they can get a good fee for him I think they will sell.

£3m - they can get screwed. Look at some of the ****e that has sold for up to £10m.

I'm sure we'll get a lot of daft offers but £3m for Chester is ridiculous. Hopefully he'll stay loyal for another season with us

Dawson's a much better player and we signed him for the same amount.

If he goes which I hope not, I think it will be to Swansea, Ashley Williams was in the south wales press a few weeks ago singing the praise's of Chester and how well they had click together at international level. Why would a south wales paper carry an article like that regards a player based in the north of England.

He was 31 this year with no resale value. Chester is 26 with his best years ahead of him.

    Probably about right then.

A very good player with no resale value and a decent player with potential resale value should be valued about the same on the market.

The value on the market is what somebody will pay for them. Chester is not worth selling at £3m when he'll be a (relatively) low earner. Even if he walked for free next summer it's still not worth it.

Its not up to us though, if he wants to leave we don't really have a choice, player power rules these days I'm afraid.

Whatever happens we can expect a fair few names leaving. Maybe more in January depending on our position in the league (predicting we will be in the championship) What will be interesting are the players we bring in to replace the overpaid tripe that leave.

the thing is once the players wages are halved I would imagine they wont be happy and will be telling the club if someone comes in they will want to leave.
