I do hope so. Without wishing to name drop, spoke to him yesterday The Best Prime Minister this country has never had - yet.
Boris Johnson is a buffoon. If he ever becomes Prime Minister I will leave the Country and live in Malta.
You couldn't be more wrong DP. I have never known a buffoon to have a First in Classics, and in private he is totally different to the public persona he has cultivated. I believe he will make an outstanding PM and I have told him so !!
I read that, it's tosh. If Boris makes it to the run off - and I think he will - I would strongly advise you to have your bank pension on him. He is an absolute certainty.
I'm afraid you're right, and the Tories will get a boost in the polls, which could lead to an early general election. This new rule about a government having to serve a full 5-year term only seems to apply some of the time. Boris is a marmite figure in the rest of the country, and will lose votes as well as gain them for the Tories.
Would Boris's brother back him? According to his voting record he wants another referendum. The family is quite divided, amicably, I hope.
His sister, Rachel Johnson, is standing in the MEP Elections for Change UK.... the remoaner equivalent of Nigel's fine Party!
Michael Gove has been re-inventing himself as an environmental champion, and a loyalist. It would be funny if he spiked Boris's ambition again.
While visiting the beautiful Scotney Castle yesterday I was told that the owners were friends with the Thatchers in the eighties, and that it was used as a safe haven for her because of the security threat to her. When we were told she was at Chequers she was actually up in the loft at Scotney. The surround was laid with gravel so that her minders could hear any footsteps. Scotney is one of Kent's multitude of hidden gems. Kent really is a superb county, most of it anyway.
Interesting opinion poll shows that 28% of the electorate think that Change UK is anti-Brexit, but 43% think that Labour is anti-Brexit.
Former Ukip chief Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party, which many polls suggest is likely to top the election in Britain, is seen as pro-Brexit by 79% of voters, compared with 3% who think they want to stay. Voters were split on their perceptions of the Tory party, with 37% branding them pro-Brexit, 24% said they were against it, 20% said they don’t know and 19% said they were neither. The SNP were recognised as the most anti-Brexit party, with 65% of voters citing them as such, compared to just 3% who thought they were in favour of quitting the EU. 3% who think that the Brexit Party wants to stay in the EU are just messin with YOUGOV pollsters
The Daily Express held a poll recently which asked Do we need more police to fight knife crime. Yes- 99% No- 10%.
