Short video illustrating sea change behind the scenes.

A couple of weeks ago supporter representatives enjoyed a very positive Fans Parliament meeting, where key staff talked about the future of Bristol City.

They heard presentations from Managing Director Jon Lansdown, Director of Football Keith Burt, Head Coach Sean O’Driscoll, Commercial Director Kevin Smith, Interim Academy Director Amy Kington and Supporter Liaison David Lloyd.

This must-see video sums up what was said on the night, and presents our vision for the future of our football club.

Im not that excited about it tbh. We get this sort of crap all the time, The club do plenty of talking but its about time we seen the walking! They got a few members within the club to come out and tell us what we want to hear. They could of pulled a tramp from the street give him a script and he would of said exactly the same thing and it would of had the same effect to our future ...... Which is nothing. Granted it all sounds well and good but we need to see it come off for once.

May sound a bit harsh, but all the stuff behind the scenes, in community projects and building the youth system means jack **** if you can't do it on the pitch, although it gives the club a great imagine no one isn't that bothered about community projects, all fans want to see is a good strong assembled team who will compete and give there all every week

There was a poll on OTIB a few months back, and most people said they would re-new if new players are coming into the squad..

It's so easy to talk the talk but show us you will walk the walk and perhaps you might get some supporters back onside. Fed up with all the rhetoric but sick of the inaction but only the proof will tell the true story.

Found it quite interesting as it is coupled with extensive change at city with a director of football being appointed, restructuring and expensive investment of the acedemy ect.

Not quite Borussia Dortmund, but in theory sensible steps.

After the events of the last couple of days I am more interested in actions rather than words...

All I ever hear is words..

We have had all of our top brass on this video, all of them conveying the message of cultural change, I didn't understand it when SOD was banging on about it, I'm beginning to get it and I am prepared to follow the new direction, if that's the right expression, it's got to be better than the **** of the last couple of years, Bristol City, you've got me again....

These words are being backed again by Steve Lansdown's cash. Possible forty million spent on Ashton Gate ... Clear changes at every level of the club.

Let's all hope that they finally, after years of dismal failings, can get it right because they are under threat of losing some of the faithful.

If they don't understand, then accept the need for massive change, and that is what is going on they are not that faithful.

I have not heard similar in thirty five years. Here you have the heads of various strands of BCFC articulating clear principles of how this community centre club will operate.

Dortmund was mentioned, it is what the Germans, do, that pyramid of league's that is better supported, and then there is the standard of their players!

Once we had a board promising European football in five years!! This sounds like sanity.

Disagree totally. My son and his football team will be using the community trust coaching, and have already.. People are bothered about this and it is beneficial.

BCFC should be the hub of South Bristol not an ivory tower.Community club of the West based in BS3, I applaud that vision.

OTIB ... So what. A forum that does virtually nothing that is positive. Blokes in west street pubsdo more no
annually for the club's community and the club than that empty vessel.

Words only, Steve Lansdowns last £40m saw us slide dramatically backwards to where we started, do we need change? yes we certainly do. Have I heard all this rhetoric before at 'season ticket' sale time before? Yes I certainly have.

Actions will convince me now only.. I hope the actions are as good as the rhetoric, I really do..

The difference this time is the set up at the club we now have a Head Coach who wants to work with a DoF, A Dof who has done the job successfully before and knows football inside out in this country, Our Assistant head coach is reading from the same sheet and came here because of it. Surely if the board have finally seen sense and restructured our management and the Academy/Development squad we should give them a little leeway with the other things and wait before we decide nothing ever changes.

I have been a Bristol City Supporter since Good Friday April 1950 and for the great majority of this time, the Club has done little to promote itself to the Bristol public.

They've banged the drum a few times when they have had short term success on the pitch and everyone is absolutely correct when they say that First Team results are the most important thing for any football club.

But apart from that, they carried on in the same old way for nearly sixty years, expecting total loyalty from all the supporters, that they would turn up regardless of results and quality of performance. In more recent times, since all seater stadiums were introduced, to buy a season ticket irrespective of cost or value for money, simply so that one could sit with their friends and family. In the days of terracing there wasn't a need as one just moved around until you found your mates.

In 1950, there were very few alternatives to football. Nobody had a car or television, no Bingo, industry worked 5 and a half days a week, in Bristol few women worked so wives were housewives. The men went to the pub on their own and many went to Saturday afternoon football to escape the drudgery of the factory or hard labour that they endured from Monday to mid-day Saturday.

As for information from the club, we got what they fed the local newspapers, what they wanted us to know and nothing more. We probably got more tit-bits from meeting the players in our local pubs.

But now already more than a decade into the 21st Century, there are so many recreation alternatives for everyone to pursue. Everybody has a car so is not limited where they go by the routes of public transport. Wives in the main, are working and providing a substantial share of the family income so they rightly demand a voice about how and where the family goes for it's entertainment.

In 1950, children were "Seen and not heard". Dad and Mum decided where the family and/or children went. But not any more as children of all ages, are now very vociferous about their recreational time.

Thus, bearing all of these changes to our Society in mind, I am very encouraged to see the recent efforts of MY Football Club, Bristol City making some real headway to become a more valued part of the Community, to realise that the Supporters have valid and strongly held beliefs about how and where their Club will go.

As many on here keep saying, the foundations must be solid, building sandcastles at Bristol City must be a thing of the past.

The football policy of recruiting, in general, younger players is one to be applauded. It may mean that for some time to come, we will be a club that "Recruits young, improves them, and sells for a profit to finance a steady growth of the club. If that is to be the case, then so be it. If these younger players are individually successful, then so will the First Team.

Because only by selling the club to the citizens Greater Bristol and building with youthful talent and enthusiasm, will we make progress to where we all feel we should be. A respected Football Club in the highest tier of English football, and a pillar of the local community.

So far so good Bristol City, welcome to the 21st Century!

Your last sentence is exactly why I await the results of the words (actions)

It was all gonna be roses and lights in the garden when Steve Coppell arrived.. Look what happened then. I have been bitten quite a few times now, I aint quite so quick to put my hand in the cage this time..!!!

Yes Banksy we've all been bitten and the older one is the more times it has happened to us.
But if we don't think positively and give them credit for trying to change as the Club so obviously is, they'll just go back into their shell and the club will slowly or quickly die!
